Hey guys. Sorry for the confusion. Yes, I do put cards in multiple places. For example, I put Chandra, Torch of Defiance in both ramp and control because she does both. It gives players a chance to categorize their usefulness for more than one way. Basically, for "draw", I have 11 cards of 100 that helps with draw (but does not necessarily just focus on that). It is still a 100 card deck. If you want to see them seperately, the "type" category will still show it as it is without changes.

I've thought about it some more, maddoxmtg, but I think that Grinning Ignus should stay. For the most part as long as you have Red mana, you can keep bringing him out to the field and pinging Purphoros (who only needs 20 pings in a game to win). Or you can save him until you need that little mana boost to bring out something bigger next turn!

As you really seem to know what you are doing in regards to goblins I was hoping to get your opinion on Tuktuk the Explorer

Hey Deathstroke2791, sorry for the late response. Knollspine Dragon is awesome, but I wouldn't know where to put him in the deck. Draw power is definitely great, but I don't know what to switch out for a 7 drop big guy. Potential to grab so many cards, that's for sure. Between him and the Myr Battlesphere... Tough.

Morning, Oloro_Magic. I actually had tuktuk in the deck, and then had him replaced recently to Defense Grid. Honestly, tuktuk is great. Haste. Let him die to give you a big golem. Problems are, that's all he does. He would be awesome with cards like Kiki-Jiki, but the golem is legendary, so you can't have two of them on the field.

Thanks, I was thinking of putting him into my Alesha EDH as he can be used in a combo with Alesha and I can continue to get that golem and not worry as much about it dying as well. As for your deck it is really solid and if you haven't already maybe consider Goblin Warchief as a way to make your goblins cheaper, or even Goblin Recruiter as another way to get Krenko, Mob Boss out.

I think if you have an opportunity to solve red's biggest weakness, that should definitely be something you do. Knollspine Dragon is almost as aggressive as Myr Battlesphere for the same CMC. But it also flies. Sure it doesn't trigger Purphoros as much initially, but it draws you more cards that do. Not to mention it is abusable by Mimic Vat and Feldon of the Third Path (because a flying 7/5 will be destroyed ASAP). Overall it's a fantastic card. I've had experience with it in a Purphoros deck and loved it. I've also used it in a Brion Stoutarm deck and decked myself - if you can deck yourself in Boros you've won at Magic btw.

Deathstroke2791, you know what. You sold me on it. MORE draw power is never bad. And even if he comes out by himself, he nets out at least 2 cards. I guess that's it for the Myr Battlesphere for this deck. Thanks for the advice. Using it.

Hey Oloro_Magic. Thanks. The deck definitely has gone through a lot of changes since the beginning. Sadly, that also took it away from being super tribal goblin deck to being a ETB/token deck. Krenko sadly is not as big of a focus as back then, so I don't mind waiting for him to play, but i did take out Goblin Recruiter for a Gamble to be able to search for anything needed... Albeit a bit of risk. Haha, go Alesha.

Glad I could be of service. It's a gem I found when trying to find better draw card for Boros. Because we all know nobody can draw anything worthwhile in Boros. I get a slow clap every time I deck myself with it, so just be wary of that.

Haha, true. Still a good card to have in. I have been changing this deck slowly to focus with more control/protection and all. I just took out Moggcatcher for Magus of the Moon, so I'm sure that will add more unhappy players out there. Also added in Defense Grid to try to protect my spells.

Really enjoying this deck and have already started to build something very similar to it. One question though, have you ever considered about adding Conjurer's Closet for additional triggers at the end of turn?

Hey, Elder.DireWolf. Thank you, I really enjoy building up this deck a lot. First EDH deck and all. Anyways, Conjurer's Closet is a great card. But to me, it was like Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker: I only had a few cards in the deck that could be benefitted from either. But that wasn't consistent enough to be usable here, so it got pulled out.

Hello Entrei. True, those cards would be amazing for Krenko. If I had Krenko as the commander, I would keep put those cards in the deck. However, with Purphoros, there's more than just goblins in the deck, and Krenko comes out a lot less frequently that wouldn't make Umbral Mantle really good here.

as an expert with goblins and burns I suggest the following cards and why:
Impact Tremors: it is basically a replica of Purphoros but does a tiny bit less damage. the plus side? has no devotion so has no risk of becoming a creature on accident.
Barrage of Expendables: what are you gonna do with all those goblins/dragons/whatever once you have them? swing with them and hope opponent does not block? I think not. throw them instead. is a great pair up with Goblin Arsonist
Outpost Siege: a great card no matter which option you pick for it. either exile top card and play it almost instantly or (my personal favorite) have the goblins/dragons/whatever give a parting shot as they leave.
Goblin War Drums (optional): if you insist on swinging with your goblins/dragons/whatever make them harder to block by giving them all Menace.
Foundry Street Denizen: a cheap guy at first but with enough red tokens popping out he will get big fast (if only for a turn).
Bearer of the Heavens (optional): to be used for emergency only. I am slightly hesitant to suggest him but you have a good board wipe card already so why stop at Artifacts, Creatures, and Enchantments? if you really need a field cleared just bring this guy out. sometimes he is enough to just intimidate the opponent from attacking you but if they insist on attacking you you can block with him and if he dies the entire field is gone. (except Purphoros of course) which is really helpful since the opponent cannot recover from the massive board wipe. (yes I know you wont be able to recover either but if you only got 5 lands and the opponent has like 10 the board wipe will be helpful.)
Koth of the Hammer: he is good for three reasons. 1: he can turn your Mountains into creatures for a turn so you can get cheap damage or an untapped land for later. 2: he will generate allot more red mana than Chandra can. 3: if you can get his emblem he turns your mountains into volcanos and can shoot the opponent (or a creature you don't like) for 1 per volcano.

Hey ticked-off-squirrel. Interesting recommendations. Firstly, I already have Impact Tremors in the deck. Very awesome card, btw, ramps up winning quickly. Secondly... The cards are awesome in a Krenko spawn win-by-combat-damage deck theme. However, my deck here is all about working on Purphoros' ability to damage everyone by spawning tokens. Definitely no need to attack or beef up the creatures at all.You asked what I would do with the tokens? Use them as blockers or sacrifice them for better things like Ashnod's Altar or Goblin Bombardment.
Koth of the Hammer... I've hear great things about him. But I don't need his ability to make beat sticks out of my lands. For now, the Chandra I have is enough. Mana, draw fix, and emblem that deals damage. Besides, I usually prefer to have one good planeswalker per deck.

I understand and see your reasons for having the deck theme the way it is. does Outpost Siege entice you even a little bit? it completes the triangle of damage. (1 damage coming in with Impact Tremors, 1 damage being thrown with Goblin Bombardment, 1 damage going out Outpost Siege). if it does not then that is ok. I just think it fits nicely with the other two cards.

Outpost Siege is definitely an amazing card. Hmm... I had it in the deck before, but I took it out because it kind of took a while to go with it. Turn 4 Purphoros, then turn 5 outpost siege? So that turn 6 it starts to work? Great card, but I don't know if it is too slow for this deck, like Trading Post was as well. I will still consider it, at least on the maybe board, because it's still a good red card. Thank you.

Mob Justice and Massive Raid have saved my ass when effects like Propaganda or Safety Sphere are in play.

When you sort by custom categories, it will often repeat cards.
