avg cmc needs to be under 2.5 to be an average speed deck without large amounts of mana rocks/ramp

Ah, hey master274. It most likely is slower that goblin decks, but I'd like to think that it is more consistent and resilient. It's definitely pretty fast for a EDH deck. I don't see this much as a pure speedy deck, but more as a deck that speeds up the overall game and stays ahead, if that makes sense. Also, thanks for the suggestion. The thing is, I get red mana extremely easily because the majority of my land are mountains. I chose Ashnod's Altar because I need it for more mana boost. Dragon Fodder will give me 4 mana that I can combine with any untapped mountain. Cards like Snake Basket doesn't care about color, rather the amount of mana pumped into it. Good thoughts.

I'd look at Bonfire of the Damned, one of the best red cards out there for the late game when you have extra mana to burn (no pun intended.)

master274 No offense meant, perhaps the way to put things is a little rude.

You say he criticize your deck while all he did was mention that he prefers what he can do with his own deck. The first thing you said was, look at my deck it's better. That's not so charming.

This deck play differently than yours do. Also actually giving inputs about a deck helps greatly. Just posting your deck saying to look at it, While you are used to playing it, someone else might miss the bigger picture.

Your deck is great and I love it too, I'll definitely playtest it a bit to see how it goes.

Hopefully this can help you in the future build constructive critisism.

ay.lobo I really like the idea behind your deck, block creatures and kills everyone without even attacking. That type of deck is right in my alley.

Me and a friend started building commanders with only common/uncommon cards for the fun of it.I made a Zada/Token with card draw and pumps, But this deck seems much more consistant as the commander is indestructibe, I might try that out while mowing the strength of the deck down a notch to fit our common/uncommon theme.

Great job!

Thought of adding Pyro Goggles to this deck? Just a thought... :)

Hey RaSkipper. True, that would be a neat card. Hmm, the issue I have is that I like the idea of hitting everyone at the same time. Why one shot one opponent and be the target for the rest of the game. Haha, even more of a target.

dericfulbright I have! Especially with all the sorceries I have that would benefit from a copy. Hmm... Not sure what mana rock to drop for it, and as a 5 drop, I'd normally want to swap with another 5 drop... But it is now in the "Modest Budget" section in the description, in case it does fit with someone, thank you.

Thank you, ghoul_Legion. I'm glad you enjoy it. If you need more common and uncommon cards to fit your group's theme, I would check out my description for some decent ones. And I would like to keep updating it, so if you find some good ones, hopefully I can add them in too.

ay.lobo That's fair, I've mainly used it in 2-3 player matches. Slaughter one guy with it, bulldoze the other with creatures. Good times.

RaSkipper, do you have blue opponents? Would Molten Disaster work for you? Or even Earthquakeor Rolling Earthquake to deal damage to everyone. Er, the bad part is pain to yourself too.

Ah, the way I made the custom categories is whatever a card's ability is. Regular type category will show one solemn. So Solemn Simulacrum is both a ramp and a draw card to me, so it's in both categories. Just so you could see how much of the deck can do a certain thing.

Pentavus .. Its not goblin theme'd, but its ability to remove a counter and make a 1/1 creature. then add it back and remove it again. Late or mid game you can chain this to end the game. I have won quite a few games with my Purphoros, God of the Forge and this

Hello, Hybrow. Interesting card, even without an ETB effect. I'd need a lot of mana to play with this cards ability. Especially a 7 drop card... What would you recommend I would replace for this card.

Emrakul's Hatcher can go. Also look into Skirk Prospector and Brightstone Ritual to use alongside Pentavus

Tough call, looks like you play yours slightly differently than me. I dont have any sac outlets.. dont really find i need them Goblin Bombardment would be the one I would cut.

I would keep Emrakul's Hatcher, dropping 4 creatures for 5 mana is pretty nice. we usually play 4 or 5 players, so you are talking either 32 or 40 total damage for that one.. Seems pretty good. And if you can get it in the Mimic Vat, you have won the game.

You can take a look at mine, although, honestly, alot of the stuff we run is the same. Norin the Wary is an absolute godsend. http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/the-fat-red-line/

Also I love your Descent of the Dragons, going to consider adding it to my deck. I would say to also run Hellion Eruption but that all depends on whether you play your commander as a creature or not. I would say 90% of my game he is just an enchantment, because I mostly have tokens in play, not really creatures with devotion.

Hope this helps, either way, this is a super fun deck to play.

Hello!

Fantastic deck. Have you considered Fiery Gambit

March 13, 2017 2:48 a.m.

battle_jelly says... #18

Hey, maddoxmtg. I'm kind of with Hybrow on this. Emrakul's Hatcher is a good card to have in this deck, at least for the ETB effect to add tokens. Hmm, those two goblin-mana ramp cards are great if I do add Pentavus...

Hybrow, I'm probably not going to add Pentavus in the deck. Simply for the fact that i already have a good amount of token creatures. Also, if I add that card, I'd have to replace a card of about equal mana, and that would be replacing my ETB draw power dragon. However, I have added your recommendation to the description in the "modest budget" section, because it's a great card. Hellion Eruption is a great card, but I decided against that a while ago. Mogg Infestation and Descent of the Dragons are the mass creature transformation I stuck with in the end.

Hey, DrValium. Fiery Gambit is a pretty interesting card. Straight up damage if I feel lucky. Hmm, I don't think I would be able to use this card. The only gambling I would consider in this deck is Gamble and that's a scary card too. Honesty, the whole deck is a pretty fun gamble, not really an opportunity to tutor for that card you need and all.

Thank you guys. Good thoughts, Good advices, and a great way for me to start the day.

I agree, Hybrow. The first time I used Norin the Wary, I played in a pod of 4. He was my only guy out with Purphoros, and essentially, I won the game with just him! Haha, fun guy.

Played my The Fat Red Line last night.. and got out both Panharmonicon and Curse of Bloodletting on one player.. so each drop was doing 4 damage to each person and 8 damage to one special person.. Was great. Curse is nice for that guy who is playing a life gain deck and needs a little extra damage.

March 18, 2017 2:13 p.m.

battle_jelly says... #21

Nice! I myself use the Quest for Pure Flame. I used to use Curse of Bloodletting, but it was too singular, it only targeted one opponent. So I switched to the cheaper guy that lets me choose when to use it to annihilate the whole board together for just .
