No Molten Birth to abuse 2 tokens, 4 damage, and possible reuse of the spell for 3 mana?

nice! i got a deck most built around purphorous and pyromancer, been gathering cards and shifting it around a bit. I really like the idea of splashing black for obzedat, as i do own a couple and he would be a power house with a purpho out! plus the whole removal thing, and the controlling enemies hand is super cool, +1i do agree molten birth can sure be handyslaughtergames might as well be call 'anti-supreme verdict' or 'death to combos'

I never really considered Molten Birth . I suppose its worth a playtest, as it provides blockers against aggro or pingers against control. And its not a dead draw late game because Purphoros makes it good. I'll give it a shot. The question is, what to remove? I'm thinking about going down to 2 Helixes already. So that's one slot. but I don't know what I should nix for the last one or 2. Maybe the spear. Its only been good when I play it, but its usually only situationally good. I'll mess around with my non-public playtesting copy of the deck and get back to you.

I'd run as many scry lands as possible. Three color decks need as much duel land action as possible, plus the extra bit of scry will help you with whatever issues you were having in the FNM.
