Like most devotion decks, the goal is to get as many creatures out to utilize cards like Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx and in our case, Fanatic of Mogis and Purphoros, God of the Forge.

Non-creature spellsMizzium Mortars- can kill stormbreath dragon, blood baron, courser of kruphix and all the creatures in aggro decks.Lightning Strike- one of the good burn spells that can kill creatures and deal damage to your opponent!Magma Jet- a pretty decent instant spell that allows me to scry to find my threats.Chandra, Pyromaster- pretty good at drawing me cards and its plus bmp one ability can help me attack through creatures and kill the small ones.Creature spellsRakdos Cackler- pretty good one drop that lets me go aggressive . Not that great for devotion, but my aggro side of me says to add it in.[Burning Tree Emissary]]- very good for devotion, helps me ramp into other lower costing spells and its two mana can be used to activate nykthos, shrine to nyx.Ash Zealot- adds devotion and is good against aggro decks.Chandra's Phoenix- I don't have any stormbreath dragon, but it still adds devotion and has flying and haste.Boros Reckoner- this card Is amazing against big creature decks and adds a lot of devotion.Fanatic of Mogis- one of the best cards in the deck and if you placed a boros reckoner the turn before, it can do a decent amount of damage.Purphoros, God of the Forge- god of the deck that can help make our creatures bigger and its other ability to deal two damage to a player whenever a creature enters the battlefield is pretty good.Ember Swallower- pretty good creature that adds devotion.
