NoSoyYucateco The Sundial of the Infinite is a brilliant combo, I don't know why I didn't even consider that!

Yeah, just make sure you stack it right--let your turn go to the end step, then activate it while the effects are still on the stack. Otherwise you'll lose those tokens on your opponent's end step.

Oh wow yeah that is a very versatile card. I was thinking more along the lines of "riku copies things" and whether it's a good fit for the commander's ability. You're right though, gearing your deck to play well without Riku is smart as he gets nerfed super quickly.
With your whole "end the turn" shenanigans I agree with your decision. I'm building a Gitrog deck right now and yeah that would mess it up.
I wouldn't mind getting a more complete explanation of your end step stacking, that sounds brilliant.

So, say you have Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker and Steel Hellkite on the board. You use Kiki Jiki to create a token of the Hellkite on your turn, and attack with it. At the beginning of the next end step, you have to sacrifice the hellkite token.
If you activate Sundial of the Infinite before your end step, you keep the token until your next opponent's end step, then it gets sacrificed.
However, if you go to your end step, the "Sacrifice this token at the beginning of the next end step" effect goes on the stack. Then you activate Sundial of the Infinite before that effect resolves, and you keep the token indefinitely. It's sort of like a Stifle on the triggered ability, but rather than being countered, you just end your turn.

What are your thoughts on Second Harvest for this deck?
June 28, 2016 5:44 p.m.
NoSoyYucateco says... #8
bluetigerreed: I thought about it. I think it would work better in a more token-based deck (if you have no tokens it's a dead draw) but you could do some fun things with it.

NoSoyYucateco: Sorry for the late response. I had lots of stuff to do and i tested my own version of this deck. I changed approximately 20 card. I've set my deck on private because i don't know how to cite your deck properly.
Did you make any changes except swapping Ixidron for Blasphemous Act?
And yes, once i won because of Mimic Vat copying Massacre Wurm. The others played Token decks. :D

Hipparchos: No need to cite! I haven't changed anything else except for swapping the Command Beacon for an Island. I found I was never really using the Beacon and preferred to have more blue mana available to me.

NoSoyYucateco: Well, i thought because overall my deck is based on yours.
Nevertheless, i hope you'll take a look I Copy You to Death! ;)

NoSoyYucateco: You know with Dualcaster Mage + Rite of Replication there's a second infinite creature combo in your deck!? :)

Hipparchos I missed the first infinite creature combo, what was it?

anduri: The famous Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker + Zealous Conscripts combo.

Hipparchos: But if Rite of Replication puts a Dualcaster Mage on the board, then the Rite of Replication is no longer on the stack, so Dualcaster couldn't copy it.

Oh, and do you mean foil basic lands? I'm using ones that have buildings in them, mostly from Theros and Kamigawa blocks. Not sure why I went with that theme, but I like it.

NoSoyYucateco Imo the combo works like this: You cast Rite of Replication and copy any creature you control. In response you put Dualcaster Mage into play targeting Rite of Replication. Now there's a copy of Rite of Replication on the stack. With the copy you target Dualcaster Mage and the copy resolves. Now you get a copy of Dualcaster Mage on the board. Then repeat the process. Remember this will only work if the original spell of Rite of Replication remains on the stack. I guess this is how the combo works.

Yeah, that would do it, actually. You could technically do the same with Cackling Counterpart.

NoSoyYucateco: Indeed, so you have technically 3 infinite combos in your deck. :)

Devi0us: I have played with this deck for almost a year now, and it is still my favorite deck to play.
Because so many of the cards are focused on copying what other players are doing, it changes a lot based on what your opponents are playing. It also works well between playgroups, since it can be both competitive or casual, depending on how you want to play.
If you are interested in building a Riku deck, let me know if you would like some advice. There are many different ways to play him. He is a very powerful and versatile commander.

Well yes. I am interested in building Riku deck. I have heard so much about it and I want my own.

Okay I think I am going to be re-tooling my riku deck to take on some of these fun copying cards. Very cool stuff!

Forceofnature1: I think moving Day's Undoing to the sideboard for Temur Ascendancy would make sense. I plan on keeping it mainboarded, though. I have been very happy with Day's Undoing every time I have played it. It is situational, but it's less situational than you might think. Not even taking into account things like other decks' graveyard shenanigans (I play against Meren and Gitrog Monster fairly regularly,) it draws you (and everyone else) a new hand, undoes someone's turn 2 Demonic Tutor, etc... It can be a great early play if you have a hand full of higher drops that won't come in handy until later. Drop as many lands as you can, then Day's Undoing for a fresh hand. It messes up other players' mulligans too, which is important if they have kept a god hand in a speedy combo deck. The results can be unpredictable, but by and large I've been very satisfied with it.
Hipparchos: Have you been able to play with Mimic Vat yet? It tends to be worth its weight in gold. I straight up won a game with nothing but Mimic Vat and another player's Bogardan Hellkite. Didn't even have Parallel Lives out, it was just thwomping the board and nobody was getting artifact removal for it. It also tends to put a stop to attackers in this deck, as nobody wants any of these ETB creatures getting vatted.
anduri: Those are some great combos! I have thought about Sakashima the Impostor. She is one of my favorite cards. Strionic Resonator would be fun, though I'm trying not to focus too much on having Riku on the board, since he tends not to stay around for too long. I also worry that the mana required to use Strionic Resonator's ability would get irritating. If I add any more artifacts to this, I think I'll go with Sundial of the Infinite first to play with my other end of turn effects like Flameshadow Conjuring, Mimic Vat, and Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker.
