Queen Marchesa Group Slug Deck

General game plan consists of ramping in the early game and playing group slug cards (Sulfuric Vortex). Protect yourself (Solitary Confinement, Peacekeeper) and control the board (Merciless Eviction) while your opponents bleed out. Powerful stax (Winter Orb, Rule of Law) pieces slow the game down. Debt to the Deathless can serve as a finisher once people are low.

Prioritize playing a few group slug and protection cards before dropping a few stax pieces since they affect you equally. Play Queen Marchesa when your opponents can't easy steal the monarch token from you for extra card draw.

Notable Additions

• Ensnaring Bridge, Peacekeeper, Humility: This is to keep people from attacking you, which people will if you play a lot of group slug cards and some stax/land destruction. I find these more reliable than cards like Ghostly Prison and Sphere of Safety since they can't be circumvented with mana AND protect your planeswalkers.

Notable Exclusions

• Utter End: CMC is too high, replace with Unexpectedly Absent or Generous Gift.

• Ghostly Prison: Too easy to pay the mana cost and doesn't protect our planeswalkers.
