you want the mana reduction more than the additional one mana because you use the Jet Medallion for every spell you cast, not just the one you tap the other artifact for.

abdulbaqr, got it, that makes perfect sense. Thanks for the explanation. I will be making that swap.

Monsmtg, thanks for the suggestions! Giving Olivia Voldaren Deathtouch is pretty awesome, even if it does make her a target.

I'd take out Cabal Coffers personally. You have 7 swamps effectively unless you draw Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth. Drawing this in your first few turns without 3 other swamps means it's a dead drop unless you manage to draw your Expedition Map to find the Urborg. Also, I'd put Braid of Fire back in. This combos with Olivia as you can use that mana in your upkeep to ping other creatures, saving your main phase mana for stealing or other stuff. No Dark Ritual either? Turn 2 Olivia is very nice or turn 2 Braid of Fire with a turn 3 Olivia gives you a 'free' ping on turn 4 meaning you can start stealing creatures much earlier.

I myself have been playing an Olivia Voldaren deck for years now. Cards I would suggest for your build would be Sudden Spoiling, which can impede other creature based decks and cannot be countered. A strict upgrade from Extinguish All Hope or Crux of Fate would be Toxic Deluge. Mana Flare can be utilized by your opponents and can bite you in the butt. I would replace it with Crypt Ghast or Nirkana Revenant. These are serious mana powerhouses especially with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth. I would also replace Coldsteel Heart with Chromatic Lantern for obvious reasons. If you want to check it out for ideas, my deck is called She's a Killer Queen.

droidboxx, you make an excellent point about Braid of Fire. I will make some room for it.

What about Stromkirk Noble? It's a one drop that gets progressively bigger by dealing combat damage and with all of your pro vampire buffs

Normally he's excellent. dunno about EDH.

Want some more cheap ramp? Try out Talisman of Indulgence. You've got a pretty good amount of ramp now though.

Ever consider Wooden Stake? Equip it to your commander and blow up blockers for 1R.

I'm confused by the lack of Stensia Masquerade.

Tsarius, thanks for the comment. Stensia Masquerade is definitely on my maybe list. It seems like it will be very strong, its just a matter of making room for it.

Imo your mana curve is too high to run 34 lands in EDH. Even if you have too many lands Olivia will be easier to recast and you can use her ability's more often. Spine of Ish Sah can be good if mass artifact wipe is in your meta and you don't have colors to destroy artifacts/enchantments. Unstable Obelisk is good if you have the color issue. I think that you either need to run more Vampire creatures or, you need to cut Malakir Bloodwitch.

Check this for a list of cards that say "vampire"

Jellosea, thanks for the suggestions. Regarding the number of lands in the deck, so far I haven't encountered any issues generating mana. The deck contains a variety of ramp spells and mana generating artifacts. Also, I don't relay much on Olivia Voldaren's "gain control" ability. Instead, I focus on finding a way to give her Deathtouch and destroy problematic creatures with her first activated ability.

Spine of Ish Sah and Unstable Obelisk would be helpful against Artifact and Enchantments because the deck does struggle with them.

I agree about Malakir Bloodwitch. Once in a while she's great if Bloodline Keeper  Flip has been making tokens for a turn or two, but most of the time I'd rather have another card in my hand.

For a theme-deck, you do have very little Vampires. You spend 24 cards on draw and removal. While this is alway nice to have, it doesn't resonate with the tribal theme and getting Olivia to do what she does best. And as far as the Vamps are concerned, destroying creatures is a waste of good blood.

Why not throw in some more Vampires and let them do the removal?

And tapping more into the strength of Olivia, why not try stealing some more?

I played against a nice deck, maybe you can borrow some idea's from: Untouchables

  1. Shriveling Rot - deathtouch AND damage
  2. Soul Collector - stealing
  3. Captivating Vampire - stealing
  4. Cairn Wanderer - fun to play
  5. Sudden Spoiling - easy meat
  6. Scythe of the Wretched - kill = steal
  7. Ascendant Evincar - kill those stupid tokens
  8. Baron Sengir - overpriced, but too cool not to play
  9. Butcher of Malakir - be glad everytime you play this one.1.

I like where you've gone with this. Different departure from mine Flesh for Food and Blood for Wine where I focus more on stealing creatures and using spells to drain and gain life from my opponents.

I never thought of the adding deathtouch to her to kill creatures with her first ability. I like that idea a lot and may incorporate a Gorgon's head and flail into mine.

Good work. +1 from me.

HOPMONSTER, thanks for the Upvote!

Giving Olivia Voldaren deathtouch is quite fun and usually catches player off guard. It also has great synergy with Black Market.

No thran dynamo doesn't go in every edh... infact it only goes in specific edh decks. It's more a control ramp piece, it's not good in a lot of decks, in fact it's only played in specific decks. You are thinking of Sol Ring.. cause yes that goes in every edh deck (there are also times when Sol Ring isn't needed, but that's rare.)

Nevinyrral's Disk would be good for a clean slate protected by That Which Was Taken.Indulgent Aristocrat,Malakir Bloodwitch,Mephidross Vampire,Stromkirk Captain would all be good in this deck also.

golgariizzet, thanks for the suggestions. Nevinyrral's Disk and Chain Reaction will be added to the deck. As for the other sweepers, I am a bit wary to add mass land destruction to the deck because I am not sure how it will effect my ability to win and also because I don't want to draw out more hate from my opponents.
