Creature (1)

This deck is a midrange W/U flicker deck.

It is based on creatures with "Enter The Battlefield" effects ("ETB") that we abuse through the use of flickering effects (exile then come back).

Flickering also protects our creatures from targeted removal spells.

This mechanic is supported by a set of instant spells to interact with the opponent.

The "ETB" Creatures.

  • Snapcaster Mage , a staple that needs no presentation. It allows us to recycle our instants to get double value out of them.

  • Wall of Omens , early defense with built-in cantrip.

  • Vendilion Clique needs no presentation: an instant, life-free thoughtseize on a 3/1 beater with evasion, that can target ourselves if needed!

  • Blade Splicer give us golems with first strike, simple and efficient for beatdown.

  • Kitchen Finks , also a staple that is great against many decks, mainly Burn and once they have that pesky counter, we flicker them to get them all fresh.

  • Sun Titan is excellent all by itself and can target all our other creatures except the angels, but it can also be flickered for more triggers. Tip: use its trigger on a Flickerwisp to get an additional creature out of the graveryard.

  • Phantasmal Image can be either of those. It can also copy the opponent's creature if they're better suited for the situation. Nice to have: a copy of Kitchen Finks triggers persist.

The Flickerers.

  • Restoration Angel is the king, giving us the flicker effect at instant speed plus an excellent body.

  • Flickerwisp has also a good body for beatdown. It doesn't allow us to use it at instant speed but can target the opponent's permanents to give us the win : remove that Ensnaring Bridge or Worship for the turn and attack for the win!

  • Cloudshift is the best cost-effective flicker spell. Open debate: Momentary Blink instead of Cloudshift ? The blink is a bit more expensive but gets better if the game lasts, thanks to its flashback. However, we run 4 Snapcaster Mages, which makes it a bit of a nonbo...

The Interactive Instants.

  • Path to Exile is our bread and butter against so many threats, from Deceiver Exarch to Tarmogoyf or Dark Confidant .

  • Mana Leak is a hard counter in the early game, when our deck is fragile. This helps us get to the mid-late game where we shine.

  • Cryptic Command is the swiss knife of instants! Most of the time, it will act as counterspell + draw but the recall or the tap effects can also win us games. Anyway, it's almost always a 2-for-1 and it gets even better when we can snapcast it.

Don't forget that all these instants can get double value though the use our Snapcaster Mage s.

The Manabase.

It is pretty straightforward and very consistent thanks to being only two-colored.
