Creature control is the name of the game, preventing mana ramp and effectively buying my openings for a quick win. Whatever Feast of Blood and Go for the Throat don't deal with, the sacrifice from Gatekeeper of Malakir and Geth's Verdict should clean up nicely.

After that, it plays pretty solidly as a combo/aggro deck using the Vampire Hexmage , Viscera Seer, and Bloodthrone Vampire to sacrifice weak creatures or blockers to the Blade of the Bloodchief (not to mention the crazy counters you get from the creature control every thing that dies give my Vampire Nighthawk or my Child of Night a solid +2/+2) The Vampire Hexmage allows instant reset to Quest for the Holy Relic or an instant kill to any planeswalker while providing me with a +2/+2.

The lashwithe and the Massacre Wurm add that little bit of power, and the Massacre Wurm wipes boards of Ornithopter , elves, Memnites, goblins, and myrs.

Lastly the Captivating Vampires, buff my weak aggro into something formidable and allow me to steal any huge threats as well as turn them into a vampire that I can then sacrifice or tap to steal another creature.

As for the sideboard, Mental Misstep is what I have found to be the number one answer to Quest decks.
