Sounds like solid reasoning, just thought i'd try to help add a constant, static card draw method :p

this deck is evil. it makes your opponents see you but as a "harmless" enabler are in fact slowly milling them to death. you also encourage them to play their hands to make them more dependent on the card drae you provide. +1 for the mind games
July 27, 2016 10:48 p.m.
well its true. you could add Questing Phelddagrif, Edric, Spymaster of Trest, Tempting Wurm, Spurnmage Advocate and Swans of Bryn Argoll to increase the opponent's card draw. you basically want your opponent's to reap more of the benefits than you, which would mill them faster than you mill yourself
July 28, 2016 1:39 p.m.
Sure weter123, I could have set this up as a mill deck, but as I said in the description above, that's not my intent. In fact, I ran Day's Undoing and Mnemonic Nexus in this deck for a while to guard against that very thing, but determined that I didn't really need them.
Obviously I wouldn't play this deck if someone else at the table were running Phenax, God of Deception as their Commander. That would just be too mean.

Yeah, BainbridgeYew, most people do build more controlling group-hug decks, but I just decided to not go down that path when putting this deck together. It does help combo players reach their combos faster, but it also lets people get to their spot removal more easily, so most of the time it all balances out.
The Stuffy Doll suggestion would be great if it said it dealt that much damage to "attacking" player, but the way it is, I would have to choose one player to receive all the damage when I played the card. That would just encourage other players to attack me in order to kill either me or the chosen player. Not really something I want to encourage.

Hey, I'm with you. I have my own group hug deck Just a quick hug. Couple cards I didn't see in your list that I love have been Concordant Crossroads, Helm of Awakening, and Tempting Wurm.

Thanks for the suggestions, iglesia777.
Two of those three cards I've considered for this deck but rejected for opposite reasons. I didn't include Helm of Awakening because I felt it didn't do enough, and didn't include Tempting Wurm because I felt it did too much.
I never even thought of including Concordant Crossroads, but it could be an interesting inclusion and might be worth testing out. I don't currently have one, so maybe, by the time I order one and it gets here, I'll find a slot for it. Thanks for that idea.

Thanks for the suggestions, Aneximines.
Most of your suggested cards are already in the deck, but of the three that are not here already, Weird Harvest might be one to consider.
I had Noble Benefactor in here at one time, but since it has to die to be helpful to everyone, it makes me a temporary target, something I avoid with this deck.
I looked at Hypergenesis back in the day, but decided against it because it pushes the game forward too fast when it comes into play.

It is awesome to see a group hug deck list that is actually that, a no-win condition, everyone has a good time deck. I am making a Phelddagrif deck, the only major changes in mine will b counters to prevent overpower/not fun cards and combos.

Hahahaha, I love this, such a fun deck to play with at the table, You would be so welcomed at my play group table any day. :)

You're missing some of the best group hug win conditions. :D
Weird Harvest + Noble Benefactor = give your opponents some SERIOUS GAS
I see that you don't want to have any win conditions at all. IF you change your mind and want to have a chance to win the game, I'll share with you what I did with this deck for win-conditions.
- Divine Intervention: The obvious choice. If you're the one who caused the game to end, let's be honest. You won ;)
- Primal Vigor + Suture Priest + Phelddagrif: Give your opponent's a 1/1 hippo, which Primal Vigor doubles, so they get two hippos for 1 green mana, and then suture priest hurts them for two. It's the beautifully constructed hippo-storm combo.
- Forced Fruition after a long drawn-out game, can make it so that your opponent's only have the ability to cast about 3-5 more spells until they're completely decked out. You should see the players that haven't ever played against a forced fruition. They're all like, "OMG I must have these cards... Cast all the 1-drops! ... Oh shit. Where's my deck?"

Thanks for the suggestions, logician, but no, I don't think I'll ever change my mind about not having any win conditions. It's just too much fun as is.
Funny story about Noble Benefactor though, that I'll try to keep short. The first time I ever played this deck was in our playgroup. The game had been going on for a while and I had been giving out lands, mana, and cards as usual. It was down to three of us and both of the others had pretty small libraries at this point. One of them attacked me with pretty much everything he had, and I had to block with everything I had just to survive for another turn. Noble Benefactor went to the graveyard, and I tutored for Prosperity. It got back around to me and I pumped everything I had into Prosperity. I had just enough mana to pull it off and won the first game I ever played with this deck.
Everyone was giving me high-fives, but it didn't feel right. I went home and took Noble Benefactorout of the deck and put Mnemonic Nexus and Day's Undoing in, to prevent that sort of thing from happening in the future. I later took those two cards out though, they weren't really needed.
Anyway, I didn't feel right about that win and have made sure that I never win with this deck again. I have plenty of other EDH decks I use when I want to win.

Swans of Bryn Argoll maybe? not sure where you'd cut for it. But I love your idea here. I'm thinking of creating a similar build for Gahjin the Honored One.

Thanks for the comment and suggestion, TheRedGoat.
Swans of Bryn Argoll is certainly an interesting card for group-hug, but I decided early on that I didn't want to include cards that would tempt people to attack me. Cards like this one or Noble Benefactor are good in their way, but I would prefer to discourage attacks rather than encouraging them.

RamaLama have you seen any of the Kaladesh spoilers yet? Well you may in fact like Ghirapur Orrery.
It Reads:
Each player may play an additional land on each of his or her turns.
At the beginning of each players upkeep, if that player has no cards in hands, that player draws three cards.

The source below will show you the card, but yeah I forgot to add it's a 4 cmc rare artifact.
September 3, 2016 11:06 p.m.
Thanks for the heads-up, Delta-117.
Truth is, I had already seen it, but I don't know whether to include it. It's strictly worse than Rites of Flourishing because it costs more to cast, it doesn't have the extra card draw, and the second ability will never trigger for anyone due to all the card draw I'm giving out. Braids, Conjurer Adept also does the same thing plus a lot more for the same cost.
September 4, 2016 12:27 a.m.
Right I forgot you had Rites of Flourishing in here well I just thought I would share the card at least. But I suppose it would probably be best in standard right now thanks to cards like Noose Constrictor.
Maybe there will be something else still in Kaladesh or even Aether Revolt.

Haha this deck is hilarious! :) +1
Do you still play this deck often?
September 7, 2016 8:54 a.m.
Thanks for the comment and upvote, Hipparchos.
I would like to play it more often than I do, but I don't want the novelty of it to wear thin. Luckily I have ten other EDH decks which demand equal time, although none of them as much fun as this one. (shh, don't tell then I said that)

Thanks for the suggestion, Athraithe.
It would be hard for me to get this out before the game ends, given the four blue pips in the mana cost, and me running a three color deck. I don't ever have problems giving out card draw anyway. I've actually taken out card draw cards in order to add some variety and interest to the goodies I'm giving out.
Great card though. I have one in my Phenax mill deck.
