Qummy's Warehouse

Question: What's stored in a warehouse? Answer: Artifacts. This deck has 29 of them.

Qumulox is the only creature here that isn't an artifact, hence why it's his warehouse.

COMMON ENDGAMES:

  1. Etched Champion very easily gets his protection triggered, making him nigh impossible to remove, block, or take any damage. Add Ogre's Cleaver &/or Loxodon Warhammer to him & he wins the game all the faster for you.

  2. Darksteel Juggernaut is, of course, a pain in the ass to kill. Add Unwinding Clock (and, better yet, Loxodon Warhammer for trample) & he's a brute.

  3. Ornithopter is surprisingly useful on offense thanks to his cheap (oops... I mean, FREE) casting cost & the many ways to pump his power. (Just lookit all those equipments). I've won many games with him as my only creature. EXAMPLE: Turn 1, cast Ornithopter. With your unused Island, cast either Sol Ring to ramp your own mana or Word of Undoing to slow down your opponent's early mana-ramp elf creature. Turn 2, cast Ensoul Artifact & attack in the air for 5. (WHAT!?!) Turn 3, cast Brass Squire (and, if you have Sol Ring out, Steel Overseer as well) & attack Orni in the air again for 5 more. Turn 4, cast Ogre's Cleaver, tap Brass Squire to equip it to Orni for free, (and cast either Ultimate Price or Word of Undoing on whatever flyers are in your way) then attack in the air for 10 (or 11, if Steel Overseer is out). Boom. Game over.

SYNERGISTIC NOTES: 1. Steel Overseer makes any offensive dudes you've got going even more of a pain each turn. I generally don't use him in combat. He just pumps everyone else up. Add Unwinding Clock to the board & you get to do it twice each turn!

  1. Brass Squire is invaluable to equip Ogre's Cleaver, Loxodon Warhammer, & Helm of the Hose for free. Plus, if mana isn't a problem, he's also a decent little defender.

  2. Qumulox looks expensive but is usually cast for only 3 or 4 mana thanks to his affinity for artifacts & of course can be out for only 2 blue. That's a BIIIIG flyer for only UU!

  3. Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas is truly unfair. His +1 ability is effectively Scry 5 + Draw 1. His -1 ability turns any of my little thopter fliers or even an unused equipment into a BIG thopter flier. And his ultimate ability (which is conveniently available as early as his second turn) is only limited by the # of artifacts I control... which is usually around 6 or 7 by the time you'd use it. Yep. That's -14 for your opponent and +14 for you. Yikes.

THREE FINAL NOTES: 1. There are a number of really cheap removal cards in here. There are also several ways to make your attackers unblockable. The combination is difficult to work around.

  1. My converted mana cost chart is deceiving.... Remember that Brass Squire saves lots of mana to attach artifacts, and good old Qumulox can be as cheap as just 2 Islands... in play his actual converted mana cost is usually about 4, half of what he appears to cost.

  2. Loxodon Warhammer has proven to be the most versatile & useful card I've ever had in any deck. Period.
