So the main idea here is mainly to get at least one
Rage Thrower
out then sweep the board for the win. The Hellriders provide extra punch if needed in case you can't find a
Rage Thrower
or Blasphemous Act. The look on your opponents face when you swing with mana birds with Hellrider to toss some damage in his face with a
Rage Thrower
on board so that even if they kill the Birds they take more damage. Then you toss Fungal Sprouting for 4 tokens off
Rage Thrower
then toss a Blasphemous Act afterwards for the kill. Anyway, here is a breakdown of the cards I included:
Birds of Paradise and Scorned Villager
: Mana ramp, obviously.
Hellrider and
Rage Thrower
: The main damage dealers in the deck.
Silklash Spider: Defense against flyers and can clear the way for mana bird attack with a Hellrider out for quick damage.
Vorapede
: For kills if things aren't working out with the Rider and Thrower. Also gives 1-2 more tokens from Fungal Sprouting.
Blasphemous Act: Again, obvious. Board sweeper. Note: NEVER use if opponent plays
Stuffy Doll
. I know, I didn't really need to add that reminder but there are some newer players that might not consider the ramifications of that mix.
Fungal Sprouting: Works well as chump blockers, Hellrider bonus damage, and sacrifical critters for
Rage Thrower
+Blasphemous Act.
Thatcher Revolt: Crazy fun with Hellrider and
Rage Thrower
in play.
Gilded Lotus: More mana ramp.
Staff of Nin: Card draw and a handy pinger.
And of course all of this is just crazy fun with multiple Hellriders or
Rage Thrower
s in play.
I have played this out a few times and even with 4 of the main players in this deck I still have trouble getting what I need. It just doesn't seem to run as well as I had hoped and I'm not sure how to fix it. Any suggestions would be nice. Suggestions for a side would be appreciated too.
2 last comments:1. I built this intentionally keeping post-rotation Standard ready so I would appreciate suggestions to follow that line.2. My budget is kinda low so try not to suggest things that are too expensive. i.e. I know Bonfire of the Damned would be great, but I don't have any and can't afford to buy them.
Thank you for your time and again would appreciate suggestions and +1s if you feel the deck worthy.
Oh yeah, this is my take on Hydrabeast's There's one, set for stun (Help Wanted) deck.
