Dragon Arch enables you to cast any multicoloured creature for 2 mana. What a deal, right? Just stack your deck with Progenitus and its giant friends, then go to town... Unfortunately it has proved hard to build a good deck around this card, mostly because it costs 6 mana for the Dragon Arch, and therefore you need to stay alive for (more or less) 6 turns before you can start cranking out the rainbow fatties. First i tried making this as a Tron deck, but then you need cards like Crystal Quarry to convert the grey mana into 5 colours...too clunky! The current build uses many different 3-colour lands as the mana base (with Amulet of Vigor to enable them to come into play untapped), includes some smaller blue creatures (Fog Bank, Guard Gomazoa, Master of Impediments), and mid-sized multicolour creatures (Atraxa, Chromanticore) to keep you alive before Dragon Arch gets going. Then once the Arch is in play you can start swinging hard with Progenitus, Hellkite Overlord, Dragonlord Atarka, Sphinx of the Steel Breeze....hell yeah ! Some utility artifacts help you stay alive (Puppet Strings) or draw cards (Arcane Encyclopedia), and Ponder does its usual excellent job of helping you get you what you need when you need it. The other card i considered for this deck was Gate to the Aether...kinda like Dragon Arch, ie gets fatties into play for cheap, but the Gate can also work for your opponent, and it works on any coloured creature or other permanents too...maybe for a future version of the deck... Finally, yes i know Sneak Attack or Show and Tell or Shallow Grave are better ways to get massive fatties into play earlier, but you know, its nice to also explore alternatives, and also note that Sneak Attack is about $25 while Dragon Arch is about $4...
