Lilbrudder, VietMoneys, and Magnivore I'm on a roll lol. Two new decks inside a month! I haven't brewed this fast in an age. I'm really happy with this one though and haven't papered it yet. I'm going to start rooting through my collection today to see what pieces I have. Let me know what you guys think.

This looks like a blast to play, and I'd love to pit it against my snow-themed mono-black deck. Speaking of, are the snow-covered lands just for flavor and to be a pest to greedy Lens players like me? No Scrying Sheets at least? Seems worthy with Dark Depths in there.

lol I already have a full EDH set of foil Snow-covered Swamps for my Drana deck. I'll probably end up picking up a new set for Haakon though. And yeah they're just for flavor since he's from Coldsnap and to punish greedy lens players :P I had forgotten about sorting sheets but I think this deck is going to be so greedy for black mana that I don't want to put another colorless land in rn.

Daedalus19876 and Ender666666 do you guys have any thoughts on this deck? I know you've both done serious work on combo decks that may be helpful here. Any feedback and support would be welcome!

I don't know the deck nearly as well as you do so I feel I can't accurately evaluate it since I wasn't able to pilot it efficiently. It looks like there's a lot of different things going on underneath the overarching theme which is slightly foreign to me but it seems like it would be a lot of fun to play once one has it down.

I understand what you mean Magnivore. It's probably the least straightforward deck I've ever designed. What you tutor for in any given situation is usually going to depend on what you already have, except for Command Beacon. And all of the deeper interactions and things like Dimir House Guard and Fleshwrither targets are non-obvious too.

This is truly amazing. You actually made something viable off of what my friend circle considers a joke commander. +1 for you, sir

Thanks so much Austin_Smith_of_Cards! I was really hoping people would have that exact reaction because I've felt like Haakon has so much untapped potential and nobody has really done anything with him that I've seen online or in person.

I love decks with a theme! +1 They are unique and fun, which is why I love EDH. Just wanted to say that this deck is insane and I hope you don't mind if I use this as a frame for my mono-black EDH which'll be made withing the next couple decks. A lot of your combos are mana intensive, so because you play Snow-Covered Swamps is Extraplanar Lens not worthwhile? Also, how about Exquisite Blood? While I hate the combo because I feel like it's too easy, the one card can help keep you live to get some of your combos out. they seem rather card intensive (once someone knows what is going on) so would the extra life be relevant? Last question, is Necropotence too slow?

I'm more than happy for you to use my deck as a framework! It's an honor to be an inspiration to other players, in fact. Extraplanar Lens is definitely worth it, even without the Snow-covered Swamps, and it's in my sideboard. I just put this beauty together in the last couple days and am testing it right now. With all of the tutors I haven't had much difficulty getting what I need when I need it and the Korlash combo is my non-traditional form of ramp. As I play some actual games and find out how the deck is paced against other real decks I'll probably shoe-horn more ramp in. Crypt Ghast and Nirkana Revenant are both sweet ramp too. I'm personally just not a fan of Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond as the combo is really unsatisfying to me and if you play one of them, people who know the cards will hard-focus you right away. Necropotence definitely isn't too slow, as I'm not trying to win especially fast. I just wanted to try different methods of card draw for this deck, and most importantly there's a hefty self-discard theme in this deck that Necropotence specifically shits on. I have to discard Haakon just to play him, so if I play Necro my entire strategy is hosed. Thanks a ton for the +1! Please share the deck with your friends.

Not a problem. And the fact of Necropotence makes sense. Whenever any deck can play black it's usually an auto include for me, therefore I was asking. I was wondering if you could take a look at one my decks that I'm slowly trying to tune into something worthwhile.

+1 for the nice deck page. In all the games of EDH i've played, i've never seen a Black Knight deck. Usually it's Mono white. But good stuff! I'll be watching how your deck progresses!

Thanks n0bunga and LVL_666! It takes a little work to actually make all the creatures knights in this deck haha and they're typically only going to be knights when they're dead, but it's a really fun deck so far.
