iamacasual I agree. That's why Snapcaster Mage and Glittering Wish are core here because we want to extend the controlling power and prolong the game. It would be nice if you can mention some decks that can do early kills with a god hand :) I will try to play test with it.

Jund and Tron are the two that come to mind.
And what's this "maybeboard"? You know you can only have a sideboard for Glittering Wish to work, right?
I would also look into Spell Snare since you're not an actual blue control deck. Most staple cards in modern are 2 drops (Tarmogoyf , Scavenging Ooze , Voice of Resurgence ).

iamacasual, I guess so. Glittering Wish can take from anywhere outside the game if it's casual play. Then again, I'd like to see some tournament play with this so I guess I'll fix up the sideboard. Thanks.

I feel you'd benefit from at least 1 Steam Vents . When I play tested and fetched with Arid Mesa, my hand would have really benefited from that blue mana that vents gives.

To be honest I don't think Creeping Tar Pit works with your deck, either. At least, not so much so that you can get away with running 3 of it. I would cut at least 2 for either 2 more fetch lands or 1 fetch land and another land.
Here's a tip I heard about building your mana base in modern (you can choose to heed or no, personally I followed this when building my deck): have enough basics to hard cast every spell in your deck just in case someone has Blood Moon in RDW or something (which is a popular deck in modern despite not being Tier 1).

iamacasual, following your suggestion can be a bit problematic. It already takes 5 basics to be able to cast my spells. Although, with a little bit of luck, chromatic lanterns will make it work.
As for the tar pits, the deck is creatureless. This is one of the finishers, if it survives. Maybe a Lavaclaw Reaches can do the finishing in one fell swoop.

Vivid Creek /Vivid Marsh /Vivid Crag /Vivid Meadow /Vivid Grove

BIGBADBRRRAP I considered Vivid Lands at one point. But those lands are kinda slow.

DenzelPretzel while i do agree they are a bit slow. But i also think that sacrificing a bit of pace for reliable landbase more than makes up for it.

I don't think having a singleton Deathrite Shaman is worth it. Decks running him have 3 or more.

Pardon me if I am being a bit slow, but how does this deck win? It seems to have no solid creature base, and not enough burn spells to make a difference or to win a game. Please explain, and it might just be me being stupid. Thanks!

Kittacus I see your problem. To maximize the benefit of going five colors, many threats have to be dropped.
The goal of this deck is to cast a Cruel Ultimatum . Once the opponent is in a disadvantage, it's up to the Creeping Tar Pit to clean up.
I'm considering on putting a Lavaclaw Reaches to get a faster cleanup but I will have to adjust the mana base again.
If you see some more problems of my deck, please do comment. I'd like to fix is as soon as possible. Thanks!

I think the issue is that tar pit is just too, too slow.

I think turn 7 is too slow, especially when most modern decks kill you by turn 5 or 6.
