Hmmmm..

For primer purposes,

I am thinking you only need the 4 Paths. No Dismember.

And probably cut Elspeth?

I do like the lack of Tidehollow

What is the benefit of Celestial Purge and Chalice of the Void in the sideboard as opposed to Fulminator Mage?

I gave up on the tron matchup honestly. Celestial Purge can take out things like Keranos, God of Storms and chalice is good against bogles and infect. Additional removal is very helpful, BrandonJamesCAC.

Ok

So we really just have no chance against tron unless we get lucky?

It's a pretty abysmal matchup. U Tron you have a chance against if you land a turn two Stony Silence. G/R tron is nightmare fuel though.

Damn. I'm lucky I haven't had to face many of those

October 14, 2015 6:02 p.m.

What about changing a plains into a Sacred Foundry and running Crumble to Dust out of the board?

Tron is just a really hard matchup, and it's just not worth splashing a color in to run a different card. Melira pod gave up the tron matchup, and melira pod was the top deck when it was still around.

I'm going to say that I got probably stupid lucky. But last two FNM I faced R/G tron. 2 hero of blade hold actually did massive work, if you can slow then down from getting ugin usually you can almost 1 shot them, then after the initial hit it doesn't even matter what they play unless it is ugin. You've probably tested it out but, I felt like hero is a card some don't think about in the board against tron. both tron players at my shop are smug a-holes so I rubbed it in their face that I won this lasted time it was 2-0.

Zombie how many did you run in the deck 2? What did you take out? Zane what do you think of sideboarding bladehold for tron?

I've actually been thinking of main boarding Blind Obedience to help with the train matchup. I already mb one ghost quarter, which is also super helpful against celestial collonade.

Hero is a good thing to side in against tron. The only chance tokens has against tron is to race as fast as possible, and hero races faster than just about anything else in tokens arsenal. Blind Obedience only slows them down a little. Stony Silence is the best thing to side against tron, with Fulminator Mage also being very good against g/r tron.

I run two, Call me crazy but i Side out all six removal spells. along with my only two auriok champ and my one of zealous persecution, then side in two hero 3 stoney silence 2 tech edge and 2 duress. i know that seems like a lot but it just ended up being coincidental since everything but the 2 tech edge were for some other matchup.

October 20, 2015 5:35 p.m.

That's the same thing i run Nopemaster except but at the time i ran suppression field. it's actually worse against tron. But yeah, i side out my removal because by the time they can get wurmcoil out i'm either dead or it doesnt matter if they gain 6.

October 20, 2015 5:43 p.m.

Also instead of tech edge i run fulminator mage.

I think it would be better to replace one Raise the Alarm with a second Honor of the Pure. Anthems are just so good and powerful in this deck. What do you think about this idea?

November 16, 2015 3:41 p.m.

xzzane says... #19

That's a common misperception people have about anthems. You only need 4 anthems, 5 is actually the upper limit that I would personally recommend.

Did you try it? Or is it just an assumption?

November 17, 2015 9:56 a.m.

xzzane says... #21

I've played tokens for like 5-6 years haha. Rarely is anything I say pure assumption

Hi Zane was wondering about Elspeth tirel?

December 30, 2015 12:51 p.m.

StegmannLeon says... #23

Also what do you think of Sorin Markov?

December 30, 2015 12:55 p.m.

xzzane says... #24

Both are too expensive I'm afraid. For this build you want Elspeth, Knight-Errant. Tirel is hard to cast and it just isn't as useful as knight errant, and markov is just way too expensive.

StegmannLeon says... #25

Thanks Zane that is what I thought also now you confirmed.
