Try a Dakmor Salvage in your mana base. If a ravens crime hits the graveyard. You can discard the salvage for the retrace then dredge 2 and get it back the next turn.

I tried Dakmor Salvage but usually dredging it back wasn't the best move to make. It kept putting a crucial Ensnaring Bridge or Liliana of the Veil into the graveyard.

I like your list a lot, I have a similar 8rack deck here Mad Cow Disease (Waste Not 8rack). My list doesn't run red but I do like the splash

I think the red splash is underrated. It lets you run a burn package to deal with threats while you dig for your bridge or bring down your opponent's life total a bit quicker.

I like your build man. After Starting with Vintage, I missed out on most of the Modern Sets before having the funds to dive back into Standard at Theros Block. I have been to 5 or 6 Standard FNMs now, and I'm just scratching the surface of Modern, butt I have always liked burn/discard, my Vintage/Legacy Deckbuilds from back in the day were already geared that direction, so when I started looking at Modern builds, the 8-Rack Black/Red combo was def my deck of choice as I already had some of the cards...Anyways, Thanks for the comments and the help, I'm still working on obtaining the cards I need to be competitive at tourneys and trying to find the info here I need to be able to fight the top modern builds, as I have yet to play a Modern tourney.

I finally got my Waste Not s and Rakdos Charm and finally feel like my deck is ready for a Modern tourney! It's pretty similar to yours. How often do you play this at tournaments? And how does it do?

I've been playing it at local tourneys for about a month now. It usually goes 3-1 or 2-1-1 most of the time. Lately i've been taking a break from it and trying out my green aggro deck.

what is your answer to Obstinate Baloth ?

Really like your current list. Only thing I would consider besides a 4th Lilly (which I assume will happen over time) is maybe swapping a Waste Not or Raven's Crime for an Infernal Tutor MB. It'll help u find those bridges in a time of need.

1x Rakdos's Return has served me quite well...

diatryma he does have Torpor Orb on the SB & Lilly MB. a 4/4 is useless if it's caught behind the bridge. Besides 4 life is nothing to a slow deck like 8Rack.

I feel like Stony Silence would be good against affinity, same thing with Rest in Peace to bad your not running white.
