I would recommend some Fists of the Demigod in place of the Deviant Glee . As for the Coordinated Assault I might consider Bump in the Night or Exterminate! instead for face burn or removal for your creatures to get through.

I run a playset of Vexing Devil in mine and he puts in work, maybe over Akroan Crusader

And also I can name many games in which Blightning card advantage won me the game.

Nice deck,

Cheers.

Thanks Gameover209X for the advice. I agree with what you've said, but this deck is Standard deck, not a Modern yet. Once R2R block cycles out, then we'll be packin some of that fun into the deck, no worries ;)

Thanks bigT164. I think I will run 2x Titan's Strength instead of Messenger's Speed . I don't really see myself needing the Trample anyways.

I have a deck very similar to this actually. Haha... ultimately I decided to pull Cryptborn Horror ... he was fun, but he was a little slow for my taste, I wound up constantly saving him hoping to play him as a higher creature. The best I ever had him was 73/73. Haha, I combo ed him with Master of Cruelties . My deck is called

Thanks guys! I took the Cryptborn Horror out and added 2x Minotaur Skullcleaver and 1x Rakdos Shred-Freak . After play testing how often I get Cryptborn down and and swinging, his usefulness dwindles quickly. No one will let enough damage slip through to make him legit.

Ya, that is the one problem with Cryptborn Horror . Haha, he has the potential to be insane, but it is just a pain to make him legit.

Yeah agreed! I'll find a way to make him awesome in some deck. Love the card! Maybe something like Skullcrack or something similar to make the damage non-preventable.

This is a very nice deck. Definite +1 as is. If I had to find some recommendation for you, maybe a Whip of Erebos to get your creatures back in after wipe and capitalize on your smaller creatures in mid-game when they start to lose their flare. I don't know if you experimented with Ogre Battledriver , but he seems to fit the deck well, and he would give your little guys a little more omph in the mid game, on the occasions that it gets that far.
Maybe sub out a couple Lightning Strike for Read the Bones to get some card draw and get at your guys a little faster. If you simply must have the burn, then Lightning Strike for Magma Jet to fininsh the playset for the scry. There aren't many standard threats that three damage kills when two won't.
It's hard to recommend anything for you to drop for the battledrivers and whip, but perhaps one Rakdos, Lord of Riots to see whether the battledriver plays stronger in your set up. If you end up liking the battledriver, then perhaps drop the hammer for the whip, but if not, try a Rakdos for the whip. I've used the whip in several decks, and it never disappoints. In your deck, it's higher CMC would hurt a little, which is one of the reasons I recommend dropping Rakdos (who is a great card also). Final thought. Dreadbore ?

Well Boroswins, I enjoyed your comment. I never did try a Ogre Battledriver in here, but I would hate to lose Rakdos, Lord of Riots from all the fun. I agree on gettin an extra Magma Jet in there, just trying to get my hands on one at the moment.

And yes sir, Dreadbore FTW! Just none available in my play group and local card shops.

no mogis marauder? no exava?

December 4, 2013 9:10 p.m.

I would recommend Showstopper in the sideboard for defense against board wipes

thats a sweet card

Thanks for the comments and view guys. Now don't get me wrong, Mogis's Marauder is legit, just most things have haste already, and the deck is more red than black. Though I could pull the Minotaur Skullcleaver for them...? Exava was almost in there, but i didn't want many 4 CMC cards in there, just Rakdos and Purph ;)

However, I do like this Showstopper card... maybe I can work it into the side. Pull the sideboarded Deviant Glee and slide two of those in? Suggestions?

Again, Showstopper is just an extremely powerful card to have on your sideboard, game winning even, I add Burning Earth to that status also, even with the mono coloured decks rising to prominence . I would consider Tormented Hero and Firedrinker Satyr mainboard, for added pressure early game, over Akroan Crusader .
