The latest version of my personal, omni-use burn deck; Rakdos Ascension controls the battlefield with copious creature removal as it incinerates its foes with direct, unblockable damage!
Finally refined after over 5 years of iterations, this deck has proven itself time and time again in games of all kinds. It remains effective in duels, multiplayer free-for-alls and team games and can conquer its opposition from any starting life total.
Bloodchief Ascension and Pyromancer Ascension are played early and each offer their own considerable contribution towards victory once charged. The deck's various instants, as well as Damnation help keep the battlefield clear of threats and secure considerable early damage while simultaneously charging the Ascension enchantments. As the Ascension enchantments become charged, those same instant spells begin to secure kills and, with them, the game.
Volt Charge and Tezzeret's Gambit help charge the Ascension enchantments even faster with their proliferate. Spiteful Visions, in addition to permanently preventing the deck from "burning out" and top-decking, also helps charge Bloodchief Ascension - especially so in multi-ways.
Dangerously quickly, Rakdos Ascension can often begin securing one-shot kills by combining a charged Bloodchief Ascension with Mindcrank.
This deck has a very low average mana cost, spending only four mana on the most expensive spells. Wearing the colours of Rakdos, it is dangerous as soon as the game begins and only grows in power throughout.
