Rakdos Battleground Control

card:Nevinyrral's Disk is the classic way for Black and Red to destroy enchantments.

In my opinion, Stensia Bloodhall isn't worth playing for all the mana it requires to run. If you still want a source of damage in this spot, take a look at Shivan Gorge or Keldon Megaliths .

Pulse Tracker is another good quick way to help cast Rakdos and to exploit his ability if he's already on the battlefield (especially if you have multiple opponents).

Looks great. Check out my buddy's Kaervek deck (Kaervek's Quicky) for more good ideas for repeatedly dealing damage to your opponents.

For more ideas, you can check my Rakdos deck (The Day of Suffering), which is designed against my "token-swarm/aggro heavy" meta. Lot's of global stuff and dmg multipliers.

Nightshade Stinger is there instead of pulse tracker (1v1 for most)

@ theAzaZeL it's a really different build for different meta ,i like the many board sweepers i got (need more) against Rafiq of the Many

OUT: many 1 drops: Tormented Soul ; Gut Shot ; Goblin Fireslinger ;Prickly Boggart ; Nightshade Stinger

I really don't to draw these cards in late game situation

Abit of life gaining: Daggerdrome Imp ; Consuming Vapors ,also Sangromancer Feels good

Have you tried Molten Disaster ? I know it costs more than Earthquake but Split Second is priceless sometimes.

Also: I think both Distress and Hymn to Tourach are better than Coercion , Mind Twist is better than Mind Shatter and Molten Rain is better than both Stone Rain and Rain of Tears , but you could run Pillage too, because of its added utility. You can also try Vault Skirge instead of Daggerdrome Imp as he is technically a 1-drop.

Honestly, I'd say look at a different general. Rakdos does almost nothing for this deck. I'd recommend Kaervek the Merciless , Malfegor , or even Tsabo Tavoc . They'd all do much better in control decks. As for the rest of this, Perish the Thought and Coercion should go... They don't do much. I'd try Hymn to Tourach , or Liliana of the Veil (if you can get one) or Liliana Vess for discard, and maybe a Grave Pact is very helpful here too.

I think i'll stick with Rakdos, Lord of Riots i really got some trouble staying with 4 lands on the battlefield since my friend destroy them all, so 6 or 7 mana would be too much

Perish the Thought and Coercion are because of their land destruction potential/save me from a land destruction

i'll be glad to play the cards you mentioned if i can get my hand in one of those !

It seems like Land Kill is a big issue to you. It may almost be worth dropping the money and getting a Crucible of Worlds . Very spendy, but can be a lifesaver if your playgroup has a lot of lando.

Rakdos Augermage can't be in here : i don't want to discards my own cards , he can't be reduced by Rakdos' second ability, also he can be chumpblocked pretty easily !

I'm searching for Nevinyrral's Disk at the moment ,as well as Mind Twist stricly upgrade for Mind Shatter , thanks for the idea i will maybe consider adding an acquire board ...

Illicit Auction is a great way to take a creature off an opponents field, or at least make them waste their life to keep it, and get rakdos triggers. Also, Free Platinum Emperion is always a pretty good option, especially when you have as much loss of life to draw/fairy and symmetrical damage cards.

chrispmatth thank you Illicit Auction looks great and i probably get if i got the chance but stealling another creature is the least i can do, see most of the creatures my opponent play as ETB trigered abilities that's why i'd rather play Treacherous Urge or even Rise from the Grave to take advantage of it ; i see the "combo" with Platinum Emperion ...

I was wondering, how consistently do you get rakdos out on turn 4? I see a lot of higher cost activators. Take a look at my deck Rakdos' Krazy Karnival!!!, Things like Gut Shot, Lim-Dul's Hex, Pulse Tracker, and Tormented Soul mean I get rakdos turn 4 almost every game. Seal of Fire and Staggershock are both great.

I honestly had never thought about how crazy Disciple of Bolas is for this deck, I actually got one in trade today after seeing it here, i'm looking forward to doing some silly stuff with him.

Maybe i should remind you that i only play this deck 1v1 (never tested it in multiplayer)

At first I had slow creatures such as Pulse Tracker (really good in multiplayer) Tormented Soul or even Gut Shot , but while i kept playing i realized a few things :

• I only cast Rakdos, Lord of Riots when i have enough mana to recast it (BBRR +2) :

How many games i'v lost with rakdos turn 4 wiped out the next turn by Clone , Phyrexian Metamorph or Duplicant reduced by Animar, Soul of Elements (my friend's heavy creatures commander)

• 1drop or cards that only serve rakdos' casting or can't be reduced are really bad in lategame or when i can't/don't want to play him. Still some old's drops are here, like Bitterblossom , Staggershock or even Seal of Fire that can help me cast him turn 4 but not as consistantly as in Rakdos' Krazy Karnival!!! i prefer throw Graveborn Muse or Abyssal Persecutor so my opponent has to handle it before i cast Rakdos ,sometimes i just don't cast any creature if Animar, Soul of Elements has gone too fast for me , and just wait a bit to cast Damnation , Chain Reaction

Anyway thanks for your comment, as we both run Rakdos it's cool improving each other decks,about Disciple of Bolas it really helps you regainnig some life + the cards , I think he's really great in here ,also if you wanna draw cards i recently discovered Knollspine Dragon a must have here !
