My current Rakdos Control build I plan on playing at my next FNM. Criticism and suggestions are highly welcome :)
The main win conditions of this deck are Stormbreath Dragon, Desecration Demon, Master of Cruelties and
Rakdos's Return
. Master of Cruelties also serves as a good defense, thanks to the combination of Deathtouch and First Strike.
Anger of the Gods, Dreadbore, Hero's Downfall and Magma Jet are efficient and powerful removal spells, and with the help of these, the board state should be ever in your favor. If you encounter some pesky Blood Baron of Vizkopas that dodge these removals, there are some Mizzium Mortars, Lifebane Zombies and a Devour Flesh in the Sideboard to get rid of them.
Underworld Connections and
Chandra, Pyromaster
provide constant card advantage, while Chandra also helps to clear the way for a devastating Master of Cruelties attack or steal away the last life point afterwards.
Hammer of Purphoros
is can either prepare surprise attacks from either Desecration Demon or Master of Cruelties, but its main purpose in this deck is to get more value out of extra lands in the late game by providing a constant stream of creatures.
Last, but not least, Whip of Erebos helps stabilizing your life total after several Thoughtseizes and untapped
Blood Crypt
s, and also counters burn decks.
