Rhinowarrior, I originally had Carnival Hellsteed in, but realized it was just too expensive for this deck. I do love that card however, and it's a strong finisher being a 6/5 haste and first strike, but it's just too expensive. I would ultimately prefer Stormbreath Dragon, but that's 15 bucks I don't have to spend on a single card... So my patriarch Rakdos, Lord of Riots is stepping in.

how easy is it for you to cast Underworld Connections ? Double black with only 9 black sources seems tough.

MTGblacksteve, It's a little hard but Magma Jet helps me dig for mana. I was already considering replacing my Jets with Read the Bones , should I replace Underworld Connections as well?

i'd think about it definitely especially if it's been difficult to cast. The deck looks solid now though let me know how it plays i've been wanting to try something similar.

Pain Seer and Mogis, God of Slaughter are both really slow if you want to go aggro style I reccomenddrop pain seer for Read the Bones and mogis for something like Magma Jet

+1! But I'd say put Magma Jet back in, likely over Shock seeing as the one mana is usually well worth the scry two

Oh and sorry for the double post but you've got an extra card in your sideboard, figured I'd mention that

JShooz I agree with Pain Seer , seeing how it'll be until turn 4 that I'll be able to use his effect so I put Read the Bones back in. Good call. However, I'm willing to wait until T5 to use Mogis, God of Slaughter .
PrecintSix6Six I was looking to lower the curve by having Shock in over Magma Jet , but since I took Pain Seer out for Read the Bones , I could justify MJ on the curve. Also fixed the sideboard. Thanks!

I love your deck's description! +1
Have you tried Mogis, God of Slaughter
?

If you don't like Firedrinker Satyr , how about Gnarled Scarhide or Nyxborn Rollicker ? Scarhide has the same native stats, while Rollicker can be Bestowed on Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch . Suddenly that Master of the Feast doesn't seem like too big a problem, does he?
If you don't mind the CMC being one higher, there's loads of more value in Mogis's Warhound . The Bestow cost is crazy for the effect it has, and the drawback is barely a drawback anyway in a deck like this. In fact, I think this card could greatly improve your turn 3+ performance.

You never answered which made me a bit sad as I like the deck.
I'm also in the middle of a prototype pseudo-Aggro deck over at We Should BEG and I'm curious, is a lot of creatures enough? I'm a bit new at this archetype and the fact you have four Lightning Strike and no other removal has me a but dumbfounded. I don't have much myself (and the stuff I do have is Tempo-removal), but I have counter-spells and regeneration to compensate. Sure, you topped FNM, but do you feel the lack of removal could pose a problem in something like defensive Midrange match-ups?

Anublet90, sorry I've been busy. Gnarled Scarhide is good, but not better than my satyrs, for the sheer fact that the satyrs can be pumped for the win. I plan on using him as Rakdos Cackler 's replacement post rotation. Nyxborn Rollicker is good, but if I'm looking to go that route, I'd just run Slitherhead .
Mogis's Warhound looks cool, I'll give him a try in play testing. I just feel like Chandra's Phoenix has more value. Once again, a good pick for post rotation. I run little removal because it means more creatures, which makes my chances for a turn 4-5 win much more consistent. If I play anything that runs big creatures or planes walkers, I just sub in Dreadbore . It's clean, simple efficient. Meanwhile, Lightning Strike is often the damage that makes or breaks my wins sometimes.
I'll take a look at your deck and post what I think.

Ooooh, that deck's changed a lot since I posted that. I'm a bit unsure where to take it after I realized a bunch of faults with it. I'm relatively satisfied now, but it definitely feels like it lost something in the last overhaul.

Askani28, thanks! Mogis, God of Slaughter is the god of flavor, but hes too midrangey for this deck. Purphoros, God of the Forge gets a lot more value from the cheap cards in the deck and can end games.
spartan989 Yeah, Stormbreath Dragon is great for Rakdos Midrange though! Underworld Cerberus , Master of Cruelties and Mogis, God of Slaughter should make the cut.

Anublet90, I personally feel like three colors make Heroic decks too complicated. W/U is strong for Heroic decks, but W/R and W/G are strong too. I'm not a fan of W/B heroic. Maybe your making your deck too complicated by having three colors? Reducing the intricacy of your mana base could focus your deck and land you more consistent results on your plays.
May 22, 2014 5:54 p.m.
... You know, I think you could actually get better results from Underworld Cerberus than from Stormbreath Dragon . The amount of cheap creatures (with haste!) combined with Purphoros, God of the Forge could probably end the game right there. That's not even mentioning the mutt's combat prowess.
I really recommend squeezing in a pair, somehow.
May 22, 2014 5:57 p.m.
Underworld Cerberus has more value on paper, but with how much removal is available to standard players, I don't see him living to see him damage anyone. Stormbreath Dragon is trickier to remove, and can do 8 by the time he can do 6. Also he's a giant middle finger to control.
May 22, 2014 6:03 p.m.
A savvy player won't want to remove him if he's been paying attention. After two turns they've both done 12! Anyway, it was more a "rock and a hard place" idea, it's not like they'd go badly together either. Especially if there's a Dragon in the graveyard! Then again, becomes useless with Oppressive Rays .
I'm brewing a Dega deck as we speak, I think I'm going to try this myself.
