Took my deck to play some FNM last night, and had some very positive results regardless of my poor standing in the end.

My first match was against an Abzan deck. -Round 1 i won without much effort as my opponent struggled to recover from a bad starting hand. The following 2 rounds i had unlucky mana issues. So this match was over quickly with not much to tell, unfortunately. Lost 1-2

My second match was against Warriors. -Round 1 i was able to drop Ghostfire Blade turn 1, and another on turn 2 with a follow up Forerunner of Slaughter on turn 3. My opponent had no creatures at this point, but dropped Gideon and used his -0 for a 2/2 Knight token. Next turn i equipped both blades to my forerunner and made a terrible mistake. Don't ask me why, but i attacked gideon BEFORE throwing down a Wild Slash for his token. The block prevented my damage cuz i was an idiot at that moment. My opponent then proceeded to Silkwrap my forerunner, and began filling his board as i struggled to recover and lost. -Round 2 i sided in a couple Duress and removed his silkwrap, then dropped forerunner turn 2, Flayer Drone turn 3. At that point i was well set, and started dropping ghostfire blades and more reavers and Sludge Crawlers as they came up. The flayer drone took care of the few warriors he put down, and eventually the small amounts of damage lead to a win. -Round 3 i had a slow start, and ended up with a board of useless ghostfire blades while only drawing more land and no more creatures than what i had started the game with. Lost 1-2

Match 3 my deck showed it's true power against a W/U deck i was unfamiliar with. -Round 1 i started fast and strong, bringing my opponent to 8 health in just a few turns. He eventually landed a Seeker of the Way and began using lots of draw cards such as Anticipate and Expedite to boost the prowess and swing to gain life. It was an annoyance, but i still had a flooded board and just kept swinging for more damage than he was gaining through lifelink. a simple Swarm Surge was all it took to snatch the win. -Round 2 i started with a couple wild slashes in hand and a reaver to drop turn 1. I slowly built up a board of small creatures, and burned 2 seekers that he put down. A third came down, and i used Kolaghan's Command to burn that one as well and have him discard. The round went easy and i won with minimal effort. Won 2-0

Match 4 was the most interesting deck i came against all night. It was a B/U that seemed scattered until the cards came down right. Let's just say it was christmas time... -Round 1 wasn't too exciting, and i won fairly easy with 2 flayers and a forerunner. -Round 2 was when i saw what his deck could do. I was able to get my opponent down to about 12 health before his pieces fell together. The combo used Hangarback Walker, Nantuko Husk, Whirler Rogue, and Zulaport Cutthroat. He made my flayer unable to block, and by the end of the combo i was taking 19 damage. -Round 3 i tried to keep his board clean and kill him before the combo could pop up again. The game went so long that we had to go to turns, and my opponent had 5 health. I swung for 3 flying by the final turn, but knew it wouldn't happen. I lost with my opponent having 2 health left. And the worst part? I realized i had forgotten to call out 2 damage from my flayer drone when i dropped a sludge crawler and reaver drone near the end of the game...i basically had it 2-1, but made yet another mistake for the night... Lost 1-2

All in all i was happy with the way the deck played, seeing as it was just a night for "testing". I came home and changed a couple things, and now i will continue to do more testing. Regardless, i am loving this deck.
