Hi Mac97, thanks for your comment and suggestion :) Assault Strobe is great, indeed, but Phyrexian Crusader has protection from red, which in this case is not so good :/

That is true and I didn't remember that. It seems like it is your voted most likely to succeed. congratulations on being the first rakdos infect I have heard of and seen. I thought trample infect was rare.

Mac97, thanks for your upvote. Well, I tried to build an original, unique and, above all, a funny deck to play :)

Interesting black infect deck +1 ;) I can suggest Plague Stinger as a quick black infect creature! You can take a look at my mono-G deck Botulotoxin (FNM 1st).

Well I think you succeeded in doing that.

Hi prihodaj thanks for your comment, suggestion and upvote :) I've considered Plague Stinger in the past as he's a nice evasive creature. I think is more suitable for an aggro deck though, as I would have to drop some control cards. Thanks for the suggestion anyway, glad you liked the deck :)

I really like Devour Flesh in this :D I'm gonna steal it for my infect deck ;D

Hi Nefferean, thanks for your comment and upvote :) Glad you liked it. Devour Flesh is really great, 1B versus BB makes all the difference in this deck as we don't care if our opponent gains life ;)

Following @Dutchmen great advice, I'm testing blue splash in order to use Rise . Fall is great but it's a dead card on late game against most decks. OTOH, Rise is great on late game.

So, I'm testing with one Watery Grave and another Marsh Flats instead of Arid Mesa and the Mountain .

I see I haven't missed much, maybe Tappedout was down for you too? Glad that you have been about to test play the Watery Grave , I haven't yet, and that it's been positive so far!

Why the single Thoughtseize actually and not for example the fourth Night's Whisper ?

I will let you know how my testing is going! I have to say, Lili has been the all star of my deck. She has won me sooo many games! Really recommend trying to find her from somewhere (I totally understand she is a bit hard to acquire...)

@Dutchmen: it was down for everyone. The only guy who could fix it was on vacations and unreachable :)

As a matter of fact, I'll probably get my hands in 2 Liliana of the Veil very soon :) What cards would you remove from my current deck list to include Lily? I'm thinking about one Devour Flesh and one Raven's Crime .

Walrusyn says... #13

Or probably both Devour Flesh and one Raven's Crime as I'll probably need the 4th Night's Whisper back as well.

You most likely have the link somewhere to my deck, but just in case you don't have it handy Black Red Infect. My build is a bit different as I don't run Lightning Bolt and have split the Wrench Mind and Rise/Fall to 3:2, with 2 extra Fall in the sideboard. At the moment I am looking for a second Surgical Extraction . That thing is nuts with all the removal. Even though I like the 3:2 Wrench Mind :Rise/Fall , I think I will try a full set of Fall and a Watery Grave next time to get that extra Extraction in.

Since Devour Flesh is somewhat the same as Lili, I would swap those. Only downside is that you can't get life yourself anymore in case you need it. Upside is of course that you will play Lili :)

Yes, please add the fourth Night's Whisper , personally I would never play less than the full set and maybe even try to get a fifth in. I actually tried Read the Bones as fifth, but it was conflicting too much with the three drops (Liliana of the Veil and Phyrexian Crusader ). What then to take out for the fourth Night's Whisper is a bit more difficult, maybe the single Thoughtseize ? I personally love the double Raven's Crime in addition to Liliana of the Veil . It's basically 6 somewhat continuous discard effects and back breaking against the control deck already from the first game. In your case that would become 2 Lili, 2 Crime and for more precise work 2 Extractions...

Walrusyn says... #15

Yep, I'll probably drop two Devour Flesh for that exact reason :)

OTOH, I do love Raven's Crime as well, mainly because of Retrace, but I need one Thoughtseize to discard some of the threats that Inquisition of Kozilek can't. In my meta that includes mainly Cryptic Command , Birthing Pod , Restoration Angel and Splinter Twin . Sometime Fall discards those cards, but other times Thoughtseize (and Surgical Extraction is very useful to discard that exact card.

I've also used Read the Bones in the past but I dropped it for the same reason as you :)

Ok, I'll have to order two Liliana of the Veil :)

Lily does make the difference :)

Theres basically no blue. interesting deck though +1.

Walrusyn says... #19

Hi mplace101, thank you for your comment and upvote :) Yep, blue is here because of Rise/Fall . Nowadays, I only use the Fall half but, following Dutchmen good advice, I'm thinking of a blue splash to use Rise on late game.

Anyone using Shattering Spree against Affinity?

Leonato says... #21

With only red mana, Shattering Spree or Shatterstorm , it's up to you.

Walrusyn says... #22

Hi Leonato, thanks for the advice, didn't know Shatterstorm :)

Lordfishyy says... #23

I personally would suggest Hand of the Praetors over Phyrexian Vatmother , unless you prefer power greatly over a more productive type of play. If you really want to keep the Vatmother in you could probably just take out 1 Vatmother and add in 1 Hand Of The Praetors and you should get the pow from Hand Of The Praetors.

Deck looks fantastic +1

Leonato says... #24

You're welcome, Walrusyn. I love Shatterstorm because it gets rid of that pesky Etched Champion s. And you know they are kinda painfull!

Hi Lordfishyy, thank you for your comment, suggestion and upvote :) I do love Hand of the Praetors , mainly because of his pump ability, and I've used it in the past (I used 2 of them, with 4 Phyrexian Crusader and 1 Phyrexian Vatmother ).

My problem with Hand of the Praetors is that he dies to Lightning Bolt and Lightning Helix and my meta is full of these. 2/3 of the games he was a dead card. Would love to have a 2/4 version of him :)
