Rakdos, Lord of Riots's ability to make creatures less expensive is a valuable tool in getting really, really big stuff out. That's what we're trying to break here.

Early game:- Ramp like hell. Cards like Mana Crypt and Sol Ring are not included because they don't make colored mana, and thus don't help cast your general, which is the main game plan of the deck. Therefore we have cards like Coldsteel Heart and Fire Diamond to help you ramp your colors.

• Hand disruption. There's a lot of redundancy in this deck, it's pretty much ramp, fatties, and tech; so don't be afraid to discard some stuff.

• Get out a way to deal damage. Rakdos, Lord of Riots requires life loss from an opponent to cast him. Sometimes this means playing Subversion the turn before you cast Mr. Beaty Face, and sometimes it means playing Goblin Fireslinger. Some are more efficient than others, but they all trigger his first ability, which is the hard part.

• Draw cards. You want as much card draw as possible, which isn't too hard in a heavily black deck. You have to have fodder for your discard engines, and fuel to add to the fires that are your opponents' life totals. A quarter of the deck should be free, so if you have mana you should be using it on noncreature spells.

Midgame:

• Cast Rakdos. Beat face. Play big stuff. This is pretty much endgame.

• Tutor for goodstuff. Eye of Ugin is especially helpful. I usually use it to tutor for Kozilek, Butcher of Truth first.

• Use the tech. Kill stuff, clear the board of creatures so your annihilator gets other stuff. Fun times.

End game:

Just hit people in the face with your huge evasive general or any of the other huge awesome things in the deck. Fun times.
