The only reason I prefer Murder is it is not Limited to a certain thing Like mono-colored creature, non-black creature, or non-artifact Creature 3 mana is Expensive but well worth it to me as Far as Going against control decks thats were Slaughter games comes into play and thus taking away my opponents control and giving me back my control to desimate my opponent. Thanks For the Advice.

Tibilt seems like a cool guy against control you can just punish them for having a hand

I am not a big fan of planeswalkers however if I was goibg to add one it would be liliana of tue veil for xtra discard and she is a target tibalt os cool i just wouldn't use him here. Thanks for the suggestion though and i admit punishing my opponent for having a hand is funny

It seems like your deck would really like to have Liliana of the Veil .

Liliana of the Veil would make the dicard more effective I will see about working her in my SB, MB for starters seems Slow.

Hellion Crucible is awful. There's a reason no deck from any Top 8 list online, ever, has used it.

I like the idea of the deck, It may suffer to other beatdown/Rakdos decks, like the one I just made (its under my profile), just because so much of your stuff is higher mana cost.

Hellion Crucible has been used in Rakdos Deck Wins top8 once - it was used to counter board wipes. Keep it.

However, I'm not sold on Elixir of Immortality . I believe Rakdos Keyrune would fit the style of your deck more.

October 21, 2012 4:41 a.m.

Hellion Crucible is my Counter Board Wipe as Far as Elixir of Immortality allows me to recycle my graveyard in late game matches, I plan to SB the Elixir and add maybe another Thundermaw Hellkite and 1 Olivia Voldaren. Not so sure just yet my Sb needs plenty of work I believe Tell me what ya think about my replcement idea.

No. Hellion Crucible is bad.

--- Proof.--- Scroll down that list to the bottom. Those are all of the Top 8 decks from any self-respecting tournament that used Hellion Crucible since it came out almost 18 months ago.

It has made Top 8 three times, ever, and only made first place once in a highly rogue suicide deck that loses completely to Tragic Slip .

If board-wipes are really that devastating to you, just use Hound of Griselbrand instead. It's a pretty respectable card in its own right. A 2/2 double-strike that turns into a 3/3 double-strike for 4 mana is pretty solid, Pillar of Flame notwithstanding.

Hellion Crucible would be okay if it was faster, but it's not. It's 9 mana and -1 land for a 4/4 haste token. If you're tapping out each turn up your curve and your opponent drops Supreme Verdict on you, chances are you won't have any counters on your land yet. By the time you put the first counter on it, your opponent is already figuring out a way to deal with it. If he/she is playing with board-wipes, they'll likely have a way (or several) to deal with a simple token.

Usually against board wipe decks this deck does stay strong I agree with Hellion Crucible and plan to find a Replacement. Slaughter Games is usually what handles Boardwipers any way. The deck is still a working progress, But so far it works above average.

Hound of Griselbrand is cool however i prefer not to use a 4cmc 2/2 undyimg doublestrike. I think their us a lot of cards that fit that spot before i play hound of griselbrand.

I'm not suggesting Hound of Griselbrand over anything else, really. I'm just saying that it might be good side-board tech against board-wipes.

If anything, Hellrider will always outclass Hound of Griselbrand , except when it comes to board-wiping.

IDK for sure how This deck will Fare when I go to A GP or PTQ I have played it against A lot of tier 1 decks and outclassed them including those from states tournaments. The decks that gives this most problems would be w/u midrange and/or tamiyo control, R/b zombies are troublesome but dealt with easily. Elixir helps stand up to them and Salughter games against the Falkenrath aristrocat is perfrect.

Grixis and jund I out run, and even Junk decks This deck seems to worki efficently and handles other decks quite well. One other Deck that gives me problems are Selesnya Aggro Varients. I plan to replace Rakdos Cackler Considering Unleashing him doesn't allow him to block but at the same instant he works well in the deck. So Switching the deck out for cards is the problem. Shrieking Affliction is hillarious and has won Several Games for me so Discard Mechanic works wanders.Aggro Effects of this deck are great, From Turn 1 I have Threats on the field and mid-late game Olivia Controls the field and Thundermaw Finishes the game. If I haven't Emptied my opponents Hand. Rakdos, Lord of Riots is the only Creature That Doesn't Have much Going for this Deck. He is Great and poses as a threat and won me a Few Games but Other than that he is just here because this is a Rakdos Deck!

Tell me do you think this Deck could hold it's own @ a PTQ or GP As it stands now!

With Elixir of Immortality , I think you're just shooting yourself in the foot. It's cool that it's 5 life and whatever, but nobody runs Mill competitively (at least not against Aggro) and the life you gain could just be offset by playing a creature in its spot. I don't think Vexing Devil works in here.

If you take out those 6 cards, I'd add another Olivia Voldaren , another Pillar of Flame , 3x Tragic Slip , and another Mountain. Hellion Crucible is up to you, but know that I'd never play it at a competitive event (and I listed all the reasons why not).

Perhaps instead of Rakdos, try Desecration Demon . Its mana-cost isn't so intensive and he's a powerhouse against Control if it sticks.

October 21, 2012 5:14 p.m.

I can agree to disagree with vexing devil he has supported this deck well especially early game. However tragic slip and another olivia sound great and desecration demon in place of lord of riots makes sense. I will be replacing hellion crucible for rakdos guildgate and keep my mana base at 22.

Hella badass. Pretty solid list, but a little too expensive for my taste. Haha. Probably why I don't play in standard that often.

October 23, 2012 4:34 a.m.

I actually got lucky a picked Olivia up 3 days before she jumped up to $20, the 2 dreadbore's and 2 Rakdos's Return I pulled in the prerelease, the blood crypt i traded for after pulling some good things other than that i had the rest covered I paid nothing for this deck all trades and luck.

Thanks for the comment and +1.

No worries, man. And that's awesome. A friend of mine wants to sell his magic collection, so I've been sorting it for him (at the menial cost of pulling out whatever cards I want, haha), so I've been focusing on extended and legacy stuff for the most part.

The weird thing is that I'm usually an Izzet guy (and Epic Experiment is making my mind tingle with possibilities) but I've really been enjoying Rakdos's flavor this time around.

October 23, 2012 5:22 a.m.

I have played against some good izzet decks for standard but overall Izzet got crapped on I believe compared to selesnya, golgari, and Rakdos.

Izzet makes good for multiplayer however and I think it is b/c everyone leaves mr izzy alone and then bam izzy wins. Lol thanks again!

October 23, 2012 10:02 a.m.

Even though I play a lot of Rakdos I wish Izzet would have got a little more love I guess WOTC felt u/w, or r/w Delver varients stole the show for long enough that they decided to give the spotlight elsewere.

However Izzet new Goblin Electromancer works well with dissipate cancel and rewind fo control.

Yeah, Izzet got a few new tricks. It is nice how well those cards mesh with old Izzet dickery, but I agree. Rakdos, Selesnya, and Golgari got every ounce of love.

I really think adding Hellion Crucible is a mistake. Simply put, it's terrible. It's 9 mana and -1 land to get a token that's irrelevant by the time you could have it out.

October 23, 2012 12:47 p.m.

Were do you see hellion crucible I took that out a long time ago
