That's a lot of land, 24 is plenty for this deck. Add burn and removal

I used to have a lot more high mana creatures, through refining, I have brought it down to this. So i may remove down to 25 mana, but i like to pull mana, i hate being mana locked, so i will never go so low as 24. If i added the two extra cards from land, i would take out the two Doom Blade add in two more Dreadbore and two Hero's Downfall . As it stands currently, i would like to get one more Underworld Cerberus and replace that last Rakdos Ragemutt

MirkoVosktheMilkDrinker is right.. 24 is already a lot. remove the Rogue's Passage as it will just screw your mana

your tag says its aggro but its full of large creatures.. remove Master of Cruelties , Tymaret, the Murder King , Havoc Festival , Underworld Cerberus then add smaller creatures like Gore-House Chainwalker , Firefist Striker and some burn cards like Lightning Strike , Magma Jet or Skullcrack

I decide to remove the aggro tag, I misunderstood it, I thought aggro was a tag for decks that focused on creatures mainly, no matter the mana cost or play style. Burn cards don't fit my playstyle, they are boring for me. Creature build have always been the way i make my decks. Rogue's Passage is for Master of Cruelties Tymaret, the Murder King is to finish what the master started, and Underworld Cerberus is just a beast of a card for the low mana creatures i have in this deck to bring them all back. Havoc Festival is great fun, but i am going to remove it for another Hero's Downfall and Whip of Erebos , just wainting to get the actual cards. I'm also going to remove two more land for either two more Dreadbore or Hero's Downfall , haven't decided yet.

I really like the idea of Armed / Dangerous , but I wouldn't remove the mana...what do you think about -2 Cryptborn Horror , -1 Rogue's Passage , +3 Armed / Dangerous ? As fun as Cryptborn Horror is, I really only take full advantage of him when Master of Cruelties is on the field...so not very often. But when he does take effect, especially in a multiplayer game...it is a game changing occurance...

Actually, Cryptborn Horror is useless if Master of Cruelties is on the battlefield. Master of Cruelties doesn't make opponents lose life, it changes their life total to one. So since they don't lose life, your horror won't get any +1/+1 counters on it. Check the wording of the two cards carefully.

Other than that, this deck looks awesome to use! Master + Tymaret, the Murder King is brilliance!

+1

Actually, you need to re-read the card. It specifically says total life lost, not total damage dealt. :) So it does indeed work. Thank you for the +1. although it does work, I am not opposed to removing Cryptborn Horror from this deck. Wouod you have any suggestions as a replacement?

Just to be clear, I am going to cut 2 Mountain and 1 Swamp for 3 more spells, one of them being Underworld Cerberus , I am thinking 2 more creatures, or another Hero's Downfall and another Dreadbore . This is my deck as it actually is, and I love it. This is my second favorite deck I have ever created. The other idea I have is to add in 2 Desecration Demon instead of Dreadbore and Hero's Downfall . But they are even more expensive. Haha

Dude you need to not worry so much about mana. the most you will ever really need is 5 or 6 tops. With how fast the deck is going to play you are going to lose your hand fast. You will often go turn 1 one drop, turn 2 two drop or two more one drops. You will not have many cards and for a deck like this to work you need gas. You want them dead before you get to 5 mana or at least seriously close.Because you have to always expect a turn 4 Supreme Verdict to screw your day.23 lands is absolutely fine and I would be ok playing 22. You also need to play more speed if you want this to work. Ash Zealot is super good for that as well as Firefist Strker to assure your damage gets through. To get that mana fixing too you really shouldn't be play 4 Rogue's Passage. It takes four mana to activate it and you will want to be playing spells instead of doing that. 2 copy at most is fine and I feel that is a lot. I run 1 in my aggro deck. Play fast and hit them hard. Burn and removal are your friends so use them. Skullcrack is amazing. Magma Jet helps you get rid of pesky cards you don't need (typically lands) and also does damage. With your deck, their 20 life is nothing more than a clock and you want to run it out. To sum up everything, mana isn't a priority, damage is. You want low cost fast creatures that hit hard. I like your late game creature like Erebos, Rakdos, and Cerberus because they can end games and Erebos adds muchhhh needed card draw. Add speed, add burn and get rid of cards like Lobber Crew because they are just too slow to be effective.

Purphoros, God of the Forge , might be better then erebos. Esp with Whip of Erebos , tho the deck does need the card draw Underworld Connections might be better there.

Also Tymaret, the Murder King becomes an infinite chump blocker for (4), if one is in the grave and one is in play. Fits with the above two cards for a nasty damage mill.

Play creature (2), sac creature (2), return creature (2) sac creature (2). It takes 8+ mana to do 8 damage on one turn. But only 6 to to do 6 if a creature is in play. not a bad option if your waiting to top deck.

He also lets you sac chump blockers for 2 damage

I have Erebos, God of the Dead in here because I got tired of playing lifelink deck and not being able to output damage fast enough. KalonianRampage has a deck I have played numerous times, and until the edition of Erebos I almost never beat him, now it is somewhere around 40/60, correct me if I'm wrong Kalonian. Also, I hate burn spells, I realize their usefulness in decks, just it is not my playstyle. This deck started as Aggro, and it could easily be shifted that way HR_Ludacris. The only issue is that I don't want to do that. You have made some amazing suggestions, and some of them would make this deck better probably, but this deck runs perfect for me right now, It is just consistent enough that I beat probably 70% of the people I play, but it is still a different game every draw. I get bored easily, and this deck keeps that from happening for me. So if it gets to the point that I can actually take it and compete, no FNM shops near me I am afraid, I may make some alterations. For now however, I am happy with the way it runs. Also, Lobber Crew is not too slow to be effective. Lobber Crew is the unsung hero of this deck. Two of my three badasses rely on him to get the job done. And he does his job flawlessly everytime, be it winning the game or putting that beautiful guild leader Rakdos, Lord of Riots on the field.

Believe it or not Tymaret, the Murder King used to be in this deck, I pulled him because he was a little slow for my taste. I didn't like to waste mana to do damage when Lobber Crew or someone else could do it for free...I need all my mana almost every turn in this deck. Also, you only need one Tymaret, the Murder King to loop, he can sacrifice himself. :P

Yeah, my Archangel deck was probably this deck's biggest kryptonite until Erebos ruined my ability to gain life, counters and angel tokens. Now it is I who is trying to work around his deck. Not to mention adding Grim Return helps destroy other strategies while protecting your own. As you did with Master of Cruelties in our last match.

Haha, that just happened to play out right, I still lost though, that third guy was doing work on me with a Boros Battalion deck that you built and gave to him. Haha

Yeah, it would have been yours

@ginko2580 - While amusing, at best, this card is 2 free damage and a 1/1 deathtouch. If it were a 3/1, or even a 2/1 maybe...but it just is not fast enough to make the cut...even over the cackler. The deathtouch is nice...but in the 3 drop spot that is what I have Nighthawk for. Plus she is flying and lifelink.

I love that card!! But I run it in 8-rack. Not aggro. Haha. Though the discard could be beneficial...hmm...what would you pull for it?

November 19, 2014 3:05 p.m.

use Master of Cruelties in mainboard

November 19, 2014 6:15 p.m.

Scytec says... #25

@ Valetdepique@ - I used too...but my aggro tendancies leave the set to 1 life thing a little redundant. I use master vs lifegain decks. :p he gets boarded in with any hint of life gain.
