Have you considered Ash Zealot ove shred freak? I know she is harder to cast but she is just better.

Double post. Sorry.Forgot to say I LOVE this and used to play a similiar deck and used Fist of the Demigod. It has since turned mono red Red Ruckus .

I understand but you can still bolt him write after he's down to 1 life

@Hallowed_Titan - I like Ash Zealot here...but maybe in the sideboard? To be honest, double red is HARD to hit turn two...especially when I want to drop a turn 3 nighthawk. Even with my mana set-uo for whatever reason I get mana screwed ALOT...I think it's a Rakdos Curse. Haha

@Valetdepique@ - If I play the Master, my game plan immediately switches to protect the Master to set them to one life...but if I have them at 7 life turn 5...not an uncommon event, turn 6, swinging woth only one of my creatures for the 6 seems a little pointless when I could swing 4 for the game. If I were running Rakdos control...he'd be a 4-of GUARANTEED, but I'm not...so he is a little slow for my overall deck idea...

Sorry it took me so long to get back to y'all...I really appreciate the comments, and I'll try to be a little better in the future. :p

This is a decent deck but it needs to be quicker. I would run no more than 2 4 drops and no 5 drops. Rakdos aggro is in a good position but you need to build it to be fast. Also try to get some Hellrider instead of Rakdos, lord of riots. But yes rakdos aggro can be good.

@ChiefBell - Thank you. I didn't even consider Hellrider...I may have one laying around. I think I will run four 4-drops however. I love my aristocrats, and I have had no issues with hitting them in my curve. I would run two of each Hellrider and Falkenrath Aristocrat...but no more than that. Good advice, and much needed. Thanks again.

I think that if you build this right you can get T4 wins quite consistently.

Anger of the Gods screws my world though. Haha. Unfortunately it is a fairly popular sideboard option. Any recommendations for card draw? Or do you think it would just slow the deck own and ultimately not be worth it? I empty my hand fairly quickly normally...

Well that happens to a lot of aggro. There's not much you can do except 1) use Duress, 2) go for a more burn-y route and 3) not over commit to the board (only play 2-3 creatures).

The Vampires you run sound like they are a big part of your strategy, would you be interested in running something like Stromkirk Captain or Bloodline Keeper to buff those up?

February 13, 2015 11:17 p.m.

Scytec says... #12

They are going into a vampire tribal build I am planning. :) But here I really don't think they would be uber-beneficial as I only run the 6 vampires.

As a Vampire Tribal player, they are some of my favorite creatures in the game. Also, for one last suggestion have you considered running Vexing Devil?

Scytec says... #14

Ya, I mention the reason I don't in my description. Expenses mainly. Vampire Tribal is my next modern deck. I just can't decide between Mardu and Rakdos.

Sorry, I must have the missed that part of the descirption. If you are set on running multicolored Vampires then I'm partial to Rakdos. Also you will see a lot of people telling you to run the Suicide Black build which can be very good.

maybe if you drop the mana a bit you could have some room for some other things. in my opinion i would have to much mana maybe drop it to 17 or 18 maybe even 20 because ur highest drop is so you really don't need that much mana, and that will give u a lot of room to do other things maybe add a play set of Dark Ritual so on turn one you could play 3 Bloodsoaked Champion or a Drana, Liberator of Malakir or a Vampire Nighthawk, or a Bloodsoaked Champion and a Rakdos Shred-Freak.

I may go down to 22 lands at some point, any less than that doesn't net me 4 mana consistently. Also, Dark Ritual is not legal in modern. Thank you for the comment though!

Hope this helped

@ironcore - Thank you very much for some of the best suggestions I have had in awhile. I am really considering replacing Deviant Glee with Moonglove, I will have to playtest this. Master of the Feast is a playset sitting in my binder. The only reason I don't run it, is the main deck in my area is U/W control. Maybe if I sideboard some Rakdos returns? What do you think?

Hi again,

@ironcore - Seriously, thanks, allow me to address each of the cards you mentioned most recently, and previously that I couldn't get to. Before I do this, if you have a deck you'd like me to look at, just post it here or on my wall, I'll gladly do so.

Here goes:

Rakdos Cackler is a great card that I absolutely love, he was in this deck for a long time, but I just recently replace him for Bloodsoaked champion, recursion for days and he buffs my aristocrat.

Tymaret, the Murder King was in a much older version of this deck as a 2-of. I really just don't like how mana intensive he is, the damage rarely helped, and he was a little slow.

Fists of the Demigod seems great, but at 2 mana, that is a little more than I want to pay for a combat trick, even though it is a great one.

Phyrexian Obliterator is an absolutely amazing card, but he is expensive, I don't own any, and his mana would be hard to hit consistently without a mana base makeover.

Goblin Deathraiders is interesting, but slow. Not a fan of more than a one drop not having some form of haste unless the other abilities are just sick. Trample unfortunately isn't worth it.

Goblin Outlander same issue as deatbraiders. Proc white just isn't that powerful for me.

Jund Hackblade This guy on the other hand, could be EXACTLY what I am looking for, multicolored is not an issue in my build, and he seems nasty. Definitely gonna have to pick up a set of this guy and really dive into the multicolor theme.

Spark Elemental is a good creature, but with very few ways to recur him...seems like an extra boost that may not even get through.

Slitherhead is really a meh creature, the counter is cool, and I may do something with him and Exava later...but he doesn't fit here.

Kolaghan's Command is already in the build, I just forgot to update it. There are 2 of those in for 2 Victim of Nights.

Sootstoke Kindler is interesting...I may playtest it with Master if I end up including him...

Break Through the Line not necessary with my creature base.

Gurmag Swiftwing is a card I REALLY want to be good...but it just isn't. Sadly...

Valley Dasher is annoying in that it has to swing. So no thanks their either.

Seriously thanks for the suggestions again. I truly appreciate it. I think I covered everything...if I missed anything you have a question about just let me know!
