Ah ok. The return land to hand is nice with Stasis but I think Counterspell is better because it doesn't slow me down when Stasis isn't in play. I have 6x 4-drops after all :)

Have you considered Capsize to replace the Boomerang ? It is one more mana in regular mode but being able to bounce your Stasis every turn late game can make things very tough for your opponent.
if you are going to run a Chronatog you will need Frozen AEther . Also would give you another win con. Get full lock down and skip turns til they draw out.

Miraxis: thanks for your comment. I dont run Boomerang anymore, i run Chain of Vapor instead as it cost one less. I think cheap spells are the best way to go so you dont need to tap out all your mana for one spell. Chronatog are in sideboard because i dont know what else to put there ;).

This deck looks really annoying to play against, I love it :D
Out of Curiosity, have you considered running Wasteland to get rid of pesky lands like Gaea's Cradle for elf storm or just to lock down your opponent more. Also, would you consider using Simian Spirit Guide for ramp?
But yeah, +1 from me.

I made a mono blue Stasis deck using the same concept. It uses Hidden Strings instead.

enpc I dont think Wasteland are worth the investment in this deck. Sure it would probably make it better, but i need blue mana every turn. I might try it out one day when im rich :)
badbadbad nice deck. I considered running Hovermyr and Hidden Strings for more tapping shenanigans, but ive decided to go all in with counterspells :).

The lock is not as tight as your Ral's due to combat damage but at least Chain of Vapor and Faerie Conclave become much more useful too.
Snapcaster Mage gives my graveyard a second life and can prove a threat even if you draw lands.
Hidden Strings can untap back two Islands to cast Stasis and still cipher or tap four permanents that turn. It's crazy.
As for card advantage, I prefer Standstill and Mystic Remora over Brainstorm or Ponder since triggered draw is free, and nets me cards without delaying my chance to counter.

You want to play Stasis as early as possible, so I added 2x Reset to make it safer to play Stasis without Ral Zarek in play.

Im pretty happy with the list now. It plays pretty well. One weakness i worry about tho is naming Ral Zarek or Jace, the Mind Sculptor with Pithing Needle or Phyrexian Revoker . Sure, counterspells are the answer to almost everything, but if it resolves there arent much i can do.. Any suggestions?

Just wondering though. How does this deck fair against faster decks like Burn, Merfolk, or Elves?

Fast decks usually has few lands, and if i drop stasis when they are tapped out they will probably struggle to to get back. If im able to drop stasis early it should be fine against burn. Elves are tricky, but manageable if you know what to counter and what you should let resolve. I haven't played against merfolk yet, but i guess its the same as with burn, I need to drop stasis early.

The problem with Merfolk is Cavern of Souls and AEther Vial Turn 1, allowing a lot of them to slip into the board pretty quickly.
But yeah, I guess getting Stasis out asap helps.

How about using a Blistercoil Weird in the deck? Seems like it synergizes well with Stasis and control spells. It's blue-red and can be used for a beatdown option.

Why not a full playset of Force of Will ? It seems like this would be the best counter in your deck being as it costs no mana and doesn't interrupt Stasis .
Also, what's Forsaken City doing for you? I get that it's untap effect matters less because of Ral Zarek and Stasis , but it seems like if you don't have one or the other out then it becomes a one use land, with a too expensive untap ability. Seems like you'd be better off running a full playset of Sulfur Falls and Steam Vents . Or better yet, you could run 4x Volcanic Island and 4x Scalding Tarn and have a Legacy land base instead of a Modern land base. If you switched to fetch/dual lands then Brainstorm would become a much better option than Impulse , it may be better anyways since you're running Ponder as well.

Thwart is another counterspell that returns islands to hand. I was using it before as a one of. Its really good if you have stasis in play, but pretty useless when you don't.
