It does need more love. Poor old Stasis with all the power and no one wants its power. Stasis is a card that wont function on its own. Ral Zarek is really all Stasis has ever asked for, but people are still unaware of poor old Stasis . Im working hard on getting the card back!

Ajani Vengeant and Tamiyo, the Moon Sage would pair well with Stasis , perhaps. Dunno about this build. Tamiyo may be a bit high on the curve, though.

I like them both, and both have been considered. I have considered all walkers of all colors. Altho, i don't think they fit. My fingers are crossed for a 4 or less mana planeswalker that untaps at least one land/permanent. Thats all i need :)

Garruk Wildspeaker ... Wrong colors, though.

For nostalgia's sake, Mana Short , Power Sink , Mana Drain , and Boomerang were used to great effect with Stasis back in the day. Mayhap you may find some use out of the legal ones.

Thanks for your comment :) Garruk Wildspeaker has been considered, and i have been considering adding green just to have him on the team. I dont think it would make enough impact for a splash tho :(. I have also been considering all those old Stasis staples, and i think they are either too conditional or too slow for todays meta.

Mana Drain is banned in legacy fyi. Chain of Vapor is a reasonable bounce effect in this deck if smackjack wants one.

How do you win?

November 7, 2014 5:17 a.m.

Do you deck them with Jace?

There is no win condition. You need some sort of bomb or damage dealer. May I suggest True-Name Nemesis?

CharlesMandore Correct, my wincon is Jace. I can also win with Rals -2.

geogio13 There is a win condition. I lock my opponent down and then start ticking up my Jace. True-Name Nemesis is not good under Stasis. Serra Avenger would be a better choice since it has vigilance, but i still think Jace is enough. Its a grindy deck :)

smackjack How would he play the Avenger? The deck has no white sources.

November 7, 2014 1:31 p.m.

I would splah some white for it.. I already have 8 sources of any color mana, so it would be fairly easy to splash without bigger changes in the mana base.. But i dont think i need it, jace is more fun ;)

you should probably run at least 1 Frozen AEther to perform a true lock, and you might also want to run some Boomerang or Capsize to bounce your stasis before your turn.

also another benefit of running white is that you can use Enlightened Tutor which can get you any number of nice goodies such as Meekstone, Isochron Scepter, Cursed Totem, Ensnaring Bridge, Stasis, Frozen AEther, Kismet etc.

I don't really see a big win con in here, but, the opponent isn't gonna win either.... call it ........ It's A Stalemate, But I'm Going Again!

May I recommend the names "Killing Time" or perhaps "Passed Out"?

November 29, 2014 3:28 p.m.

smackjack says... #24

ginko2580: Its a wierd deck, i know :). The deck is focused more on locking down the opponent than winning. Once you have everything in place you can start focusing on winning, most often with Jace, the Mind Sculptor but sometimes Ral Zarek kills them with his -2. Many games end with opponent scooping as well.

xlaleclx: I dont think Mishra's Factory is a good fit for the deck :(. I cant use him to beat down the opponent, as he would only be able to attack once under the Stasis lock.
