Little brew based around
Rally the Ancestors
and a bunch of small creatures. It's Aristocrats but not jank!
It's one part value-town and another part dredge-y combo-y goodness that can grind with the best of them. The only card this deck just can't beat is Kalitas, tTraitor of Ghet.
The goal of the deck is to dump cards into your grave and/or use dorks to get in for chip damage, creatures dying drain your opponent due to the effect of
Blood Artist
and
Zulaport Cutthroat
.
Viserca Seer and
Carrion Feeder
are the yang to the former's ying. they are the pillers of the deck, it's hard to go off and kill your opponent without either, although not impossible. This is why we run
Rally the Ancestors
and
Collected Company
, so we can dig for/reanimate a critical mass of damage.
Voice of Resurgence
and
Vesperlark
are there for additional value, so we can continue to grind through interaction.
Cabal Therapist
acts as a slower sac outlet for our creatures and also can win games if left to untap a few times. Not a lot of people like the card at face value, But when your goal is to sacrifice whatever you got anyway, a free cabal therapy is a sweet bonus.
Stitcher's Supplier
enables
Rally the Ancestors
by putting cards into our graveyard both when it etbs and when it dies. This means we can get more targets for rally and
Eternal Witness
.
Noble Hierach and
Birds of Paradise
give the deck a faster start, and are additional bodies to reanimate/Sacrifice. Mid game they become chump blockers whilst we look for the correct combination of cards to close a game out.
Return to the Ranks
is a redundant reanimator spell that can be convoked, which is relevant when one has 2-5 creatures at any given time.
There are a bunch of things to pay attention to, between etbs, death triggers and a variety of other small interactions, knowing how to stack specific triggers will help make you a better pilot of the deck.
Surprisingly the deck runs at instant speed more than not, having win conditions like this means one can play very patiently.
Knight-Captain of Eos
is an absolute godsend for the deck, as it allows us to set up a lethal turn without threat of countermagic/interaction. It also fetches up any 1-drop in the deck, namely our Sacrifice outlets. In the side, it fetches the 1-of
Caustic Caterpillar
in case there is hate to be dealt with.
Removal is normally bad against this deck, we don't care if our creatures die, they'll come back anyway. Sweepers can be responded to and the amount of bodies we put out means we can chump block until we dig for a winning spell.
Voice tokens hit for a truckload in this deck, remember that, lol.
Carrion Feeder
also hits for a truckload.
The Maybe-board has a pile of cards that very well can be put into the deck, but aren't in my current build. While the shell itself is pretty stiff, there are enough flex spots for people to change it up
That's about it! Feel free to ask questions if you have any, or provide suggestions to make the deck better. I'm always up for tweaking the list to try new things.
