The ultimate in control/aggro BWR Tokens! This deck is real fun to play with. My meta is pretty scary, so this deck is built to withstand whatever you throw at it while remaining insanely budget.
Lingering Souls
and Gather the Townsfolk are early defense and early damage, if you can manage it. If you can't attack though, feel free to chump away. You'll have more tokens. Also, secret deck tech with
Gloom Surgeon
for aggro matchups. He's essentially a 2/1 indestructible in combat. Awesome!
Instigator Gang
acts a seudo intangible virtue on a stick that can become extremely scary if they fail to play a spell, and a blocker than can trade with
Silverblade Paladin
.
Skirsdag High Priest
makes your board position extremely secure. If you can get an upkeep in with the priest, you'll pretty much shut down the board until they draw a board wipe or a kill spell for the priest. They probably won't attack into you, but feel free to use a kill spell of your own during their end step. Say hello to your demon friend!
However, this is all just board stalling. Your real win condition is
Rally the Peasants
!
Here's some math.
Rally the Peasants
played and flashed back is +4/+0 for each creature.
Lingering Souls
is 4 flying creatures. Rally cost 6, and souls costs 5. On turn 5, you can get out four spirits with one spell, and turn 6, you can swing for 20 with another spell. That's a two card win combo that's really easy to get and can be assembled at any point!
If you're following me, basically you just have to hold out until you can swing in with an insane amount of damage in a single strike. It's hard to keep the deck down, since there's always more spirits! And in the mean time, kill and discard whatever threats the opponent has. The low amount of Intangible Virtue and
Skirsdag High Priest
are to prevent dead draw. Sure, they're good, but 85% of the time they're win more. I'd have a safer deck than risk drawing a third virtue when what I really need is an answer.
Post sideboard, make your deck more resilient to burn and aggro with
Knight of Glory
and
Divine Deflection
, or deal with control by siding in Nevermore, Slaughter Games, and the Duress. Get more aggressive with the Intangible Virtue, and throw in the Desecration Demon if you think their deck lacks an answer to it.
+1 and suggestions are welcomed! Any obvious cards are probably missing due to their price. The land base is shaky, and that's the biggest problem. A
Sorin, Lord of Innistrad
would be groovy, and Hellrider would 80% of the time just be a better card than
Instigator Gang
. Oh well.
