Thanks smallguy!! What do you recommend replacing for it?? I was kind of thinking of Argentum Armor since it is more of a for fun card... it has a purpose but could be switched out.

Gray Merchant of Asphodel is simply too powerful to not include in a permanent heavy black EDH deck. Corrupt too. +1 from me! love Love Rat Tribal!

Thanks sharkudi!! Never thought about Corrupt which is a great card in a mono black deck. Gray Merchant of Asphodel must be placed in this deck since i run Conspiracy it is still tribal rats!!! I added Conspiracy because somebody told me to build a deck that killed others with penguins so i played it and made everything penguin rats.... that way i could still use Marrow-Gnawer to populate my field.

Lol penguins love it I use to know a guy that used Volrath's Laboratory to populate the board with "purple princesses" just cause it was funny

Riptide Replicator is better and at the same time worse lol

I can see the benefit to it. Looks good for ramp and such or late game. Also for sac reasoning with Marrow-Gnawer

I would run Jet Medallion , Phyrexian Reclamation , Patriarch's Bidding , Ashes to Ashes , Cannibalize , and Rite of Consumption

I would run Crypt Ghast

Caged Sun , Gauntlet of Power , Black Market , & Lilliana of the Dark Realms for mana ramp.

Exsanguinate & Consume Spirit for mana dumps.

I see now that caged sun is already there... I really need to pay closer attention. Lol sry

@PrestonShilling not a problem i have Gauntlet of Power in the deck before just didnt want to help others with it but for mana purpose i guess i can put it back and and thanks everyone for the recommendations. I am adding a good chunk of them when i get them. Thanks again!!!

My buddy runs Thousand-Year Elixir in his deck, it is easier to get the thornbite combo with it. Chittering Rats may seem simple but it can really set an opponent back in the early turns. I would include some tutors, and some discard if you want to start getting competitive.

Also with the big mana cards I also played Plague Wind and I loved it. They just printed In Garruk's Wake so if you like then there is redundancy there. Just a tought.

How good is elixir of immortality? It seems kinda low impact here. I also think maralen may not be the best thing for you. I feel like our opponents can abuse it more, finding answers form your threats, or just bigger bombs than we have access to..

True. In some regards as of right now both have had moderate impact reason are Elixir of Immortality refreshing deck from a mill or board wipe is always nice, Maralen of the Mornsong is so i hopefully can turn 4 start Thrumming Stone for the turn 5 win. They are more for the fun factor and if i do replace them no clue what to replace with. Now i do use them when able and have some success with them. I have considered using Ob Nixilis, Unshackled
