I don't run it, but I'm not in a control-heavy meta. I'd probably remove Shizo if you think you need it.

January 16, 2014 6:57 p.m.

why whould u remove shizo? the best part of shizo is its interaction with Sakashima the Impostor make anything a legendary includeing the aborisition then give it fear XD

Including two cards because they only have synergy with each other isn't the best idea. Shizo would be better if you planned to win through combat damage and you had more creatures that were Legendary on their own.

You'll get more value out of Boseju, I think.

Very well built! Seems like a scary deck to play against. Might I recommend Whispering Madness , Jace, Memory Adept , and Fate Unraveler . Other than that, this seems to be one heck of an EDH deck.

This deck has been through some changes. Have you tried Liliana Vess ? I'm also tempted to test Rise of the Dark Realms but not sure what to think, how has it played for you? It seems like with all the Wheel effects and discard there'd be lots of fatties to pilfer.

I've been tempted to try Rise of the Dark Realms , too, but the way I saw it was that you have to draw/wheel into it late-game after graveyards are filled. By the time I get to 9 mana, I can usually win by casting a couple of wheels with some pain effects out.

For 10 mana, I wonder which would be better: Myojin of Seeing Winds or Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur ?

Ooo...Jin Gitaxias is cruel. I like it. Too bad Griselbrand is banned though.

Oh, and since it's likely your opponents are going to be casting spells after drawing all the cards...what about Kaervek the Merciless ?

February 21, 2014 1:41 p.m.

meecht says... #14

IMO, Kaervek the Merciless doesn't really fit, partially due to his mana cost. I think he would work better in a chaos-like version that runs Forced Fruition , Wild Evocation and Possibility Storm to force players to cast spells. Maybe even throw in Omen Machine for good measure.

You've only got 34 lands, practically no mana ramp and Ravnica karoo lands. I imagine that you play in a very forgiving metagame.

I was on gatherer a little while ago and hit the random card button. It took me to an odd card called Gustha's Scepter and I thought it would be great for this kind of deck. If you draw more than one wheel effect just hide one away till you need it.

That's a fantastic find. I'm stealing that for mine. Good work.

i know...what luck right? This is the reason i hit the random button....you never know what you will find.

I look through all these lists and it seems like nobody is running Mystic Retrieval . Is it just because of the prevalence of graveyard hate, or are people just having difficulty finding room for it. I know that's why it's not in my version yet...

It seems like getting back a wheel effect or a sweeper might be useful...

I like Mystic Retrieval i use it in my 5 color wheel deck Group Therapy and it has done me pretty well.

Because Snapcaster Mage is just fine, but both are redundant when you have decent card draw anyway.

meecht says... #22

I run Mystic Retrieval in my build as redundancy to Snapcaster. It also lets you reuse overload cards like Cyclonic Rift and Vandalblast .

Has anyone tried using Ice Cauldron in their build? It seems like a good card, once you can understand the 11 lines of text.

What about Phyresis ? Infect isnt allowed in my playgroup, but I still use it now and again if permitted.
