Actually, I think Elder Mastery triggers twice, one for each card they draw. Assuming it's enchanting Nekusar, the Mindrazer , they would draw a card for Nekusar's abbility, lose one life, discard two cards, draw their turn card, lose one life, discard two again. Brutal. You are not going to make any friends with that one, probably our Zombie Wizard leader won't make it past the turn.

This deck is really nice. It's like a super crazy Niv-Mizzet deck. I made my own variation with this general except it's tribal wizards, Siphon of Mind . Feel free to check it out! Also you might like Archmage Ascension in here to pull out anything you need for the situation. With your gen out, you will always be able to get your stacks up on it.

i think Archmage Ascension is a good card however im having alot of issues cutting cards for other cards at this point sence i have not been able play test this yet. i will look at ur tribal wizards im sure it will be better than my deck lol

An Eldrazi reshuffle means if your opponent has any of the Eldrazi creatures like Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre that have the effect of hitting the graveyard and reshuffling itself and the graveyard back into their library. Bloodchief Ascension + Mindcrank ignore the reshuffle mischief that comes up when playing a mill strategy by dealing damage every time a card hits the graveyard, which triggers the cycle again. If the Eldrazi hits the graveyard, you merely reshuffle and keep mill pinging for the win!

It's an infinite combo, some people like them, some don't. The option is there if you wish to use it! :)

i put mindcrank in i like the standing multi effects it brings forth when i have them drawing for damage with my commander.

hi again, i see u have Prosperity in here. maybe add in a Deadeye Navigator and Great Whale for and infinite mana combo to kill all of your opponents FOR INFINITE DAMAGE?! its just a thought though, seeing as those two cards wouldnt work well outside this combo much, and you would need to tutor for them

October 31, 2013 5:54 p.m.

i personally do not believe in inifinite mana combo's i do not play the game simply to win anymore. i simply play to play and attempt to enjoy

well, i think that they can be fun.... but anyway, the guy who said you need Bribery is right, its a staple in any blue edh deck. and also, what about Wheel of Fortune ? any deck that forces your opponent to draw cards seems good with this guy imo.

October 31, 2013 6:04 p.m.

i have Wheel of Fortune in already lol as for bribery im working on finding a way into it

I had Blood Tyrant in my deck, Binge and Purge, and I was always bummed when I drew him and had to pay that mana for that effect... how has he performed?

October 31, 2013 8:28 p.m.

he is real hit or miss for me as well. thats why hes only in the maybe board

Epochalyptik finding myself unable to make the cuts i should. a little assistance please

October 31, 2013 9:43 p.m.

What's your budget?
What power level do you want the deck to meet?

October 31, 2013 10:01 p.m.

looking to keep deck under $600 lol and explain what u mean by power level.

October 31, 2013 10:02 p.m.

How competitive should it be? Do you want it to be win-oriented, or do you like to play a more causal game?

October 31, 2013 10:10 p.m.

i would enjoy it to be win-oriented due to the fact that i have a casual shitty red/white deck

Might I humbly suggest Helm of the Ghastlord as another effect similar to Elder Mastery that costs less and also lets you draw whenever an opponent would draw (while they discard). :)

Love the deck idea, I make might one for this commander too at some point.

ah! a wonderful sugjestion. what would u have me take out that u think doesnt fit?

November 1, 2013 12:20 p.m.

Epochalyptik i may not be good at the game as i worry about the land u have chozen as they deal damage to me. please explain as to why they are so good. i trust they are i just am hesitant.

Phyrexian Arena i am also hesitant as it is a constant not a may.

i understand that i dont have much removal and i realize that is possibly my downfall.

also very weary of Mana Vault as i dont like havint to pay 4 for 3 mana.

November 3, 2013 1:50 p.m.

Life is a resource. If you're willing to pay a little life, you can set yourself miles ahead of your opponents. That's why cards like Necropotence , Watery Grave , and Polluted Delta are so powerful.

The pain lands (including Ancient Tomb ) offer on-color mana with no drawbacks other than very minor damage. You start with 40 life. If you can have a dual land come in untapped and always give you the color you need, that's definitely worth taking 1 damage a few times.

Mana Vault is also very powerful. You don't have to untap it after you use it. You can use it once for a burst of mana to cast something bigger sooner, then untap it when you have excess resources (or even not at all).

A lot of newer or less experienced players don't like the idea of paying life for effects because they're so concerned with losing faster if they pay life, but realistically you aren't in unnecessary danger if you pay a controlled amount of life for beneficial effects.

November 3, 2013 2:07 p.m.

Epochalyptik can u explain why i should consider to remove the cards other than the land

Honestly, the reason "bad in EDH" covers all of them. All the nonland cards I advised you to cut in post #45 are clunky, unnecessary, and generally inferior.

Sadistic Sacrament is unnecessary unless you're playing against combo decks or strategies that rely on a few key elements.
