Omg 2-4hrs??? I'd keel over and die at that speed XD

My playgroup runs 'anything goes' and the only restrictions are off the official ban list. Makes for some explosive games some nights >:D

we tend to try to make the game fun not explosive. we speed the game up by useing planechase cards as well, now that is truely fun.

Damnation , I personally do not like cards with X in their cost. Usually somewhat of a dead draw early games, whereas Damnation is a beauty no matter the time and day if you're being overrun.

However, if your meta aims towards armies of little tokens, then Black Sun's Zenith would be superior, murdering off the little things while allowing your fatties weather the storm.

Liked your deck but I think you could take more out of your commander. I built my Nekusar around cards that damage opponents when they draw. Feel free to check it out: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/nekusar-the-mindrazer-11-11-13-2/

Have Breathstealer's Crypt been good? I planned to add it to my deck, but all decks doesn't include much creatures so it would be just sneaking card.

City of Ass is an illegal card in this format. Your description doesn't say anything about that so I'll just assume you didn't know

November 20, 2013 8:03 p.m.

actually City of Ass is not stated as an banned card in the offical ban list warper

November 20, 2013 8:09 p.m.

plus i play this casually, so City of Ass is also a troll card lol

This deck looks like a lot of fun, I'm going to be borrowing (read: stealing) some of these ideas for my Necusar deck. I saw your comments about Planeschase, and figured I throw this in here real quick, have you ever played Chaos Magic? It makes a normal game of magic get crazy, and an EDH game is just absurd. My group has been playing it off and on (not a format that you can play all the time) for a while now, and we always come back to it, as it makes games more interesting. http://mtgcommander.net/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1744

Download link is safe, I just checked it (although, they are inverted, you want the chaos list, not the cards, but the chaos list DL is under the chaos cards link....). There are other versions out there too, this is just the one that I found quickly, and the list van be edited to your group, if there are certain effects you don't like, take them out, or write new ones. Sadly I don't have my groups list right now, otherwise I'd just give you that.

Burning Inquiry could be awesome here.

oooooooo i like Cerebral Vortex . help me find a spot for it on mine! ha!

ooo I also like Sword of War and Peace a lot. but not sure if my deck would do as well with it.

Frozen AEther is very amazing stall

I am considering these. hmmmm

November 22, 2013 3:50 a.m.

@tlk_lone_knight I'm not sure if you need ramp/fixing, but I'd take out Darksteel Ingot

November 22, 2013 7:22 a.m.

in this kind of deck its hard to not have fixing BeowulfBjornson however i have fixed my mana base so i am more than likely able to remove Darksteel Ingot

@Dreno33 i found Cerebral Vortex very lack luster because of all the wheel effects, the only people it was worthwile to hit is a person playing straight blue and niv decksSword of War and Peace i havnt gotten to use it much yet, havent pulled it out much

Frozen AEther is amazing for me, the stall it provides is amazing. if you have both Frozen AEther and Propaganda

November 22, 2013 10:23 a.m.

i feel like if i was playing Hive Mind that Burning Inquiry would be amazing

I think that Nekusar, the Mindrazer is definitely the stronger general over Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge but I chose to go with Jeleva because of the hilariously amazingly fun stuff that she goes well with.

I did playtest your deck against my Jeleva deck and you almost certainly would have won if it weren't for the many effects that mess with permanents and take control of creatures.

So I think that you should have more cards like Lightning Greaves in your deck. You almost had the game when you had that out except that I was able to copy a Grixis Charm that dealt with both your general and the artifact protecting it. I have seen other decks with heavy removal that would take your general out as well (more than likely). Since your win con seems so tightly linked to your commander in this deck, I would give more thought into protecting said general.

Incidentally - in another playtesting round I scooped because my landbase is so bad that I couldn't even cast my general even though I had land drops every turn ...

November 22, 2013 12:17 p.m.

the hard part is putting in more win-cons besides the general. i dont wanna have to scoop because someone put my general on the bottom of my library. if thought about trying to find a tutor or 2 to put in but im strugling to take things out as well lol. what cards would u sugjest i add and take out? rememebr there will always be something that can counter a deck, no deck is ever perfect in edh too many veriables

There are a lot of cards in U that protect generals as well as plenty of artifacts that also do so.

We have Swiftfoot Boots , Whispersilk Cloak , General's Kabuto , and a bunch of stuff in U that you can find in my deck: I Guess I'll Let that Happen (Talrand EDH). I see that you have Kira, Great Glass-Spinner . That's a great one!

I know that no deck is perfect - but I can only guess - but I would expect a table of players to see your Group Slug general and make it a target for sure! Fending off a table of targetting on your general takes a few more cards than what you have. You can keep re-casting your general but it is harder to keep re-casting its protection.

Actually, tutors might be the better way to go since you mention the tucking and don't appear too concerned with budget. Those would take up less slots and not be dead cards if your general is already protected or you aren't facing opponents with heavy removal in their decks.

You probably wouldn't need to take out very many cards if you went with tutors - maybe just Sturmgeist , Frozen AEther , and Phyrexian Reclamation . These all seem a little bit tangential to your main strategy even though they are pretty interesting cards.

tlk_lone_knight - isn't Cerebral Vortex worth it BECAUSE of all the wheel effects?

November 22, 2013 12:58 p.m.

ill be honest the Frozen AEther is very very useful, same with the Phyrexian Reclamation i face more board wipes and counters than i do single target distruction honestly. the Sturmgeist is kinda lack luster with all the wheel effects

November 22, 2013 1:02 p.m.

@Dreno33 honestly i struggle to use it properly lol, it could be very very good especally if u play Hive Mind it could be very devistating in that case. there are just so dam many cards taht could be useful

November 22, 2013 1:07 p.m.

I'll admit that Frozen AEther does fit in the more generic "group slug" vein and if you are already taking up that slug position, why not?

But my question about Phyrexian Reclamation is about how well it fits in this deck. Does it really shine in this deck? Does it really add much benefit to this deck? I see only 16 creatures (including your general) and your general alone with all your enchants and slug effects could maybe do the job. You already have Whip of Erebos which doubles as lifegain. Phyrexian Reclamation costs you life instead which isn't a great thing if you are likely to be a target.

November 22, 2013 1:09 p.m.

the point is that i only have 16 creature, lets also not forget that i can send my general to the graveyard and leave him there that alows me to play Phyrexian Reclamation pay 2 life and retreave him to play him for his origanal cost as well as any creature that i feel i need i can reclame
