I always see these decks and think why no Urza's Guilt seems very good in most of them....

why do you only have 34 lands? is that really enough????

Dreno33 says... #4

annnnnnnd you should definitely run Sigil of Sleep over Elder Mastery .

just my opinion.

November 25, 2013 4:23 a.m.

why Dreno33 and idk if 34 is enough yet, personally i always run into too many land normally in my decks, i like Sigil of Sleep but if u put Elder Mastery on anything that deals damage by drawing like my commander, niv, the crawler; forces them to only be able to play instants because otherwise there discarding

Prince of Thralls feels like an odd one out here. Have you considered Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur? I am certain he can give alot of value :P

i actually enjoy Prince of Thralls it says perminites, so it includes enchants and artifacts. i fine Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur as a super targeter

Windfall , Skyscribing or Howling Mine ?

Also unhinged / unglued cards aren't legal in EDH but it varies from playgroup to playgroup, of course :)

December 5, 2013 6:34 p.m.

i have Howling Mine in already, i use to have Skyscribing however i didnt find it but a very slow mana dump, might try to find a place for Windfall i thought i had it but what would u take out?

December 5, 2013 6:38 p.m.

ChiefBell says... #12

I've found that Skyscribing can just end a game - draw 10 cards, take 20 damage. But it can also be bad.

Maybe remove That Which Was Taken . It's A LOT of mana for an effect that's easy to get around.

What are your actual wincons in this? Nekusar, viseling and underworld dreams?

December 5, 2013 6:52 p.m.

@ChiefBell i will tell u know that it i do not find myself at all a good deck builder, as well as i enjoy cute cards that add value in my eyes. i do not exspect others to see these items as important. please do not take offence to what i say as many take my words to be in an attacking matter. That Which Was Taken is a cute way for me to add value back to cards as well as indistrucatbilty. yes i do not have alot of wincons, however this is also the reason that i play casual i am not ment to win in my eyes. i rarely win no matter what i play therefor i prefer to play things that i find cute.

Well that's fine. I'm not going to tell you how to play the game! By all means - use the cards you want to use.

Another wincon could be Spiteful Visions but you have to be careful with that because it can kill you too!

Why don't you just add it to the maybeboard and think about it a bit :)

Please don't feel like you ever need to do what other people suggest - it's your deck not theirs.

As was stated before, City of Ass is banned in EDH. EDH operates under the Vintage banlist with some additions, and all Unhinged and Unglued cards are banned in Vintage.

Though again, if it's just for casual, it doesn't matter.

In my Nekusar deck I run Phyrexian Tyranny and Spiteful Visions . Games can get awfully close but you have to remember that with Nekusar out - opponents are always taking more damage than you, so you are likely to win.

Also you may find Shield of Kaldra a bit less mana intensive than That Which Was Taken .

I think it's a shame you're not running Price of Knowledge . Your description mentions it but it isn't in the deck.

I'd consider some more basic lands. All it takes is a Blood Moon and you're screwed

December 5, 2013 7:53 p.m.

@Jarrheadd0 i have checked the offical EDH ban list on the Magic website City of Ass is not on the ban list. regardless of the fact i am playing casual so it doesnt matter. if you knew it was stated before i implore you to not try to reiderate what someone else has already stated as i find it highly irritateing, as to you ChiefBell i have strayed away from cards such as Spiteful Visions because of the fact that it damages me, im normally a high focus in games anyway i need no added effect to me dieing

The allowed and banned card rules are slightly more complicated. I will quickly explain them (not because I'm arguing but just as a point of interest) - commander is played with cards that are legal in vintage. The ban list is full of special exceptions - cards that are legal in vintage normally but for some reason are not allowed in EDH. The reason that City of Ass is not on the banlist is because the entire set it is from is not vintage legal and so cannot be played in any format. But casually - who cares?

December 5, 2013 8:03 p.m.

@ChiefBell how do u find Shield of Kaldra less mana intensive than That Which Was Taken ? they both 4 to use there ability's, as well as That Which Was Taken can be used to put counters back on Myojin of Night's Reach Myojin of Seeing Winds to reuse there ability

December 5, 2013 8:03 p.m.

ChiefBell says... #21

I didn't factor the divinity counters in but Shield of Kaldra costs 1 less to play and is itself indestructible. You can remove That Which Was Taken to make everything no indestructible. It's a lot harder to remove the shield :)

December 5, 2013 8:06 p.m.

thank you for the clerifcation on the ban list ChiefBell

December 5, 2013 8:06 p.m.

i agree it would be a great add to the deck as another indistructable, however i find it extreamly difficult to take things out

December 5, 2013 8:07 p.m.

@kendanc i understand that a simple Blood Moon would cripple the deck however that is one card that would be able to cripple it, however with as little mana i am running i find it that if i dont use the lands then i will have to take out cards to enter more land. i understand that there will be counters like Blood Moon but sadly i will not be limiting myself to just being able to trying to counter every counter out there. its edh 100 cards is just not enough lol

December 5, 2013 8:22 p.m.

@ChiefBell i did use to have Price of Knowledge in the deck however i do not remember what i took out for it lol
