I saw a Hex deck featuring the Ob Nixilis, Captive Kingpin - All Will Be One infinite combo. Let's try something there.
The natural combo is that when Ob gets a +1/+1 counter, AWBO triggers for 1 damage to the opponent, that triggers Ob to get another +1+/+1 counter. Infinite loop but basically just insta kills.
To try to get the combo out more consistently, I want to run Chaotic Transformation and token enchantments so that the AWBO is guaranteed. There are a few options for token enchantments but Charming Scoundrel seems like the obvious choice. If I don't exile the Scoundrel's Wicked role to the Transformation, it can still trigger Ob's loss of life trigger to enable the combo.
If we try to run The Millennium Calendar as another AWBO combo piece, then having token artifacts like Treasure can be good fuel for the Transformation. Scoundrels and Generous Plunderer are natural fits. Plunderer and Ob is a sneaky synergy, where the opponent has a strange decision to make about the Plunderer treasures he has. If he gets rid of them on his turn, Plunderer can give him one (which he can't get rid of yet) and then attack to trigger the one loss of life which triggers Ob. If he doesn't get rid of them he's taking more damage when Plunderer attacks and he's not using the mana for anything.
If you don't Transform a Scoundrel into an Ob, you can still fetch him with Lively Dirge or Beseech the Mirror.
Battles work well with AWBO. And I think Invasion of Azgol
is the best one for this combo. Decent removal and helps remove blockers for Plunderer or Scoundrel, and the flip creature can add more single counters like we want for AWBO and Ob. Opponent can be trapped if you attack with the Scoundrel with the battle flipped and AWBO and Ob out, if he doesn't block, that's 1 damage and the combo triggers, if he does block and kill Scoundrel, the flip creature adds a counter, AWBO triggers for 1 damage and the combo triggers anyway.
Other battles that might be good are Invasion of Mercadia
to dig early, Invasion of Fiora
as a pseudo sweeper, and maybe Invasion of Tolvada
. Into the Fire helps dig for cards but also can sneak in sweeper damage against all battles. Plunderer and Ob are good at attacking into battles.
Lost Jitte has potential here. It helps get attackers through or can add a counter to trigger AWBO. Calendar is janky so I don't mind diluting the Transform artifact pool a bit with Jitte.
Jagged Barrens can trigger the combo too. So the Chaotic Transformation can possibly get the whole combo in play out of thin air if you're lucky and get the All Will Be One - Ob Nixilis, Captive Kingpin - Jagged Barrens in one shot.
