Sideboard

R/B Modern Vampires

The idea of this deck is to be a pure creature deck, without instant / sorcery / Enchantment / Artifact etc.. spells.
Get ready for some hate... people accusing of "net deck" and whatnot :)

Removal options:

It works surprisingly well, despite not having any draw / instant removal.
The mana curve is quite low, meaning almost anything you draw, you can play.
Plenty of combo's in there, am considering adding some cheap vamps that allow me to sac more such as Viscera Seer.
Currently playtesting this deck with a lot of success, except for 2 games that manascrewed me, doesn't happen very often...

I love the idea of haste too, i've considered:

  • Fervor - Misses the point of pure creature deck.
  • Erdwal Ripper - too underwhelming for its cost
  • Falkenrath Marauders - Playtested it, mana cost is too high, unless you 100% know you get a hit when it comes in, but then it still is too costy and can only be played in a stage of the game where you're better off with something else.
  • Mirri the Cursed - Playtested, too weak for the mana cost, and the +1/+1 counters only come from hitting Creatures which misses the point.

Sideboard is being built, i've put some placeholders there, still unsure if i want to bring in anything other than more vamps.

Any advice / comment is welcome,
Cheers,
xSic

Updates Add

Updated the sideboard.

Had some time to update as some kid raging @ me ingame waiting for the clock to run out now :)
"Net deck" rage :)

Saddens me because he had quite the nice deck, i was just going to complement him about it when he started to rage :(
(he had a nice combo going of Restless Apparition + Power Conduit, i took over his Restless Apparition with Captivating Vampire's ability turn 6)

Anyways, back to the deck!

Vampire Hexmage sideboard against planewalkers just in case i don't get a chance to kill it with pure damage.

Some additional playing around with cards, also added Cavern of Souls because.. well.. yeah it's freaking awesome?

Took out some of the more expensive (mana-wise...) vamps and moved them to sideboard, I need cheap vamps that ramp up with Captivating Vampire / Stromkirk Captain to keep pressure on the board.

Bloodghast is awesome against heavy removal, and works as a Sac outlet quite nicely too (well it IS an awesome card, so i don't really need to explain so much about it :P )

Captivating Vampire's ability to take over opponents Undying / Persistent / Indestructible creatures proved to be insanely strong.
A huge plus is it even steals all equipment + enchants attached to them.
Word of warning - usually results in rage-quitting by opponent...
