Snow586 clayperce hit it on the head.
More specifically, my burn spells can damage Player OR Creature. I want to use them in my first match to finish the Opponent off faster, if I can.
Both the spells you mentioned only deal with Creatures.
I also prefer targeted removal to what Foul-Tongue Invocation offers.
I'm not sure why you think Flaying Tendrils would be better than Kozilek's Return, which is already in my Sideboard. I think Instant speed board wipe is better for Aggro decks.
I don't really want to keep discussing cards I've already rejected. Check the list in my Description to see which cards have already been talked about.

Noctem i'm assuming that's meant to be Fiery Temper
August 5, 2016 4:06 p.m.
Yeah, it is.
Just forgot the name and was going to get back to it later.
I always think no one reads my match reports. I might need to stop thinking that.

I figured that's he meant but you never know, maybe his opponent had pulled a fast one!

If you use more gender neutral language then people won't be offended.
How about you give that a try?
August 6, 2016 12:48 a.m.
The unfortunately thing here is that you can't be bothered to use language in a more inclusive fashion.
Hence the deflection on to how I am feeling about the situation, rather than reflection on how your language assumed that I am male.
A mature person would notice the assumption, and correct it.
It'a disappointing, but I think that will not happen in this situation.
I hope to be proven wrong.

Testing Hanweir Battlements for their ability to give Creatures Haste.
I removed them for Westvale Abbey Flip, but I think they may work for this deck, even without their meld partner, Hanweir Garrison.

More deflection.
It seems that you aren't interested in actually discussing the issue at hand.
I was right, so there's no point in continuing the discussion, or lack thereof, about your gender specific language.
From this point forward I'm just going to delete your Comments.
This is a place to talk about my deck, not for you to posture about what you perceive my motivations to be.
I hope those weren't too many big words for ya.

Testing Call the Bloodline against Prowess decks.
Will remove Kozilek's Return if it proves suitable.

Also testing Mage-Ring Network as the three colourless lands.

Could Ever After work in this deck? getting two of your dragons back on the field will be game ending, especially if one of them is kolaghan.
August 7, 2016 9:06 a.m.
It's a good idea, monkeyprophet
If it gave them Haste it would be brilliant.
At the moment I'm tightening this up to make it more competitive.
To do that I've added Liliana, the Last Hope and more removal.
So right now I don't know if I've got space for a 6 drop Sorcery.
It's a very interesting suggestion so I will keep it in mind.
August 7, 2016 9:28 a.m.
I thought Mage-Ring Network would provide Ramp but it doesn't appear to have much of an impact.
I think it's because I need so much coloured mana to play Creatures.

Dragonlord Kolaghan gives all your creatures haste so with Liliana, the Last Hope filling up your graveyard you'd have a good chance of getting one in there. Imagine turn 6 instead of just dropping a Dragonlord Kolaghan you could drop kolaghan and another creature with haste. I think Ever After can be used as a pseudo ramp/aggro play. I think this deck is on the brink of being extremely competitive,
Also with all the delirium decks filling up the graveyards quick Kolaghan's second ability just gets better and better as i can envision many situations where an opponents entire hand is unplayable or take 10 damage.
August 7, 2016 10:15 a.m.
I understand the power of your suggestion.
The only thing that works against it is that I rarely use Liliana, the Last Hope's second ability.
In testing, this deck has gotten extremely powerful with all the latest tweaks, so I'm pretty happy with it as it stands.
As I play I do keep different cards in mind, so I'm doing that right now with Ever After.

Id say add Distended Mindbender so you can get the full value of Kozilek's Return.

Thanks for the feedback, clayperce. I appreciate you taking time to test the deck.
This did much better at FNM tonight than I had hoped. I came 4th. 3-0-1
Yeah, I had Drana, Liberator of Malakir in another deck and she was great. Once I thought about her for this deck I knew she had to be a four of.
Like you, I have been amazed at how well Akoum Firebird plays with Drana. To the point where I wouldn't mind putting another copy in, but a third just hasn't tested that well.
I won a match tonight by constantly hitting with all my little weenies. My Opponent would block one or two, damage would get through from the rest, and then I'd put the blocked ones straight back out on the field. It meant the Opponent couldn't attack because they need blockers, and I ended up squeezing enough damage through.
The Skulk on Rancid Rats and the Menace on Relentless Dead can also set up some interesting situations because the Opponent can't block a little 1/1 coz all their Creatures are too large, or they can't block a 2/2 because there are two attacking, and they only have two blockers on the field.
I would argue that my Sideboard is quite transformative. It takes out all the burn and puts in only removal.
During my last match my Opponent said he didn't know how to Sideboard against me. I think that's because most stuff can come back from the Graveyard.
Ruthless Disposal has been an amazingly good card. A Player had two Sylvan Advocate on th field tonight and I discarded an Ultimate Price, sacced Sanitarium Skeleton, pop popped both the Advocates, returned my Skeletor from my Graveyard, cast it again, then attacked with all my other Creatures.
Yes, I've decided to call him Skeletor.
With the Swamps, I've tested a tonne and, while they are essential in the early game, you want to make sure that you can cast Kolaghan's Command on a weenie if need be, and that you have two available to cast Akoum Firebird or Thunderbreak Regent as soon as possible. From my testing the lands feel about right.
I'll write up a match report but I have to say that this deck was fun to play and coped with most stuff the Opponent used to deal with it.
