My take on the aristocrat sacing engine after watching day 1 of BFZ pro tour.
In the early game, you're usually gonna want to play many disposable creatures like Blisterpod, Carrier Thrall, and Catacomb Sifter.
You're gonna use these creatures as early blockers to die and to buff creatures like Nantuko Husk, and Butcher of the Horde
You profit from their deaths from cards like Grim Haruspex, Evolutionary Leap, Abzan Ascendancy, and especially Zulaport Cutthroat.
You have removal like Crackling Doom to get rid of threats. Radiant Flames to wipe the field and profit
If you aren't able to draw any aristocrat cards or cards to let you sac, your 2nd option is to flood the field with Disposable creatures either by summoning one by one or by Collected Company, then using Radiant Flames to clear the field you profit from Zulaport Cutthroat, Grim Haruspex, and Catacomb Sifter to fix your draws.
Sideboard Tech:This is why i love sideboarding now. I absolutely love the new lands, they allow for so much versatility. Whenever, playing a control deck that continues to counter Butcher of the Horde or Collected Company or even your enchantments, sorceries or instants; you could side in all the blue lands for like 2 Windswept Heath, 1 Wooded Foothills, and 1 Llanowar Wastes and depending on your opponents deck you could side in cards like Dispel and Spell Shrivel, or if your opponents deck relies on a specific card Infinite Obliteration is a great card to side in. Duress is there as well if you need the extra information and Silkwrap could be useful in case of a giant Hangarback Walker or something. Dromoka's Command is for enchantment based decks or for decks that have really annoying enchantments, plus it's just an amzingly good card. It could even save a card like Hangarback Walker (If i decide to run it in this deck) after resolving a Collected Company. Still taking more ideas for sideboard. As many as possible. Thanks
When standard rotates, as much as it sucks to do this, I'm going to replace Butcher of the Horde with Smothering Abomination, Grim Haruspex with Liliana, Heretical Healer
, Crackling Doom with something like Bone Splinters, and Abzan Ascendancy with Something. Debating on that still. Who knows? maybe I'll replace it with something like Dragon Fodder.
Depending on the cards that will be released in the next block I will make my decision. Hopefully they will put a green black forest-swamp land or maybe a green black fetch land. And hopefully, a really good aristocrat creature will be released; really praying for one.
