The long forgotten fury of the Red Mage has returned. The defiant walker signals this truth, once lost to time. With time comes Renewal and Regrowth and so must these Built to Smash objects be Obliterated with life totals no greater than zero.

Here is the preliminary brew. I am excited to join Standard for the first time in quite a while because of this beauty: Chandra, Torch of Defiance. The low curve, mana count and draw filtering should enable wins to be achieved even in some more dire circumstances. However, an idea always needs improving so that's where you come in. What do you think about bringing back the fury of RDW?

9/27 I was thinking today that control, along with midrange, could give some headaches in later turns and with eldrazi the deck would be able to disrupt their flow with Though-knot Seer s main/side and Reality Smashers in the side. I feel that they have immense power and the splash does not seem too difficult. Suggestions on 20 vs 21 or 22 lands, and how many colorless sources for consistency?

Some input on the sideboard would be appreciated. What do you recommend?

Which is better Skyship Stalker or Akoum Firebird? Both synergize well with Chandra, Torch of Defiance's +1 Add . Additionally, Fateful Showdown could be useful for a small chunk of damage and a wheel effect.

I enjoy the flexibility of Incendiary Flow vs Harnessed Lightning's synergies with Thriving Grubs and Lathnu Hellion . Thoughts?

Being able to refill your land-ridden hand is important. Bomat Courier, Smuggler's Copter, Collective Defiance, and Chandra, Torch of Defiance all serve to offer us access to viable spells, or draws, rather than dead lands or dead cards. Is there not enough "true draw" to cripple or are there better options?

Any suggestions are welcome and wanted.

9/26 Removed 3 Brazen Scourge and 2 Mountain in favor of 2 Hanweir Battlements, 2 Hanweir Garrison and 1 Sin Prodder.

9/27 Removed 5 Mountain for 4 Aether Hub to support eldrazi splash and for 1 Geier Reach Sanitarium, as the loot activation should be enough to maintain presence. Removed 2 Skyship Stalker for 2 Thought-Knot Seer for consistency against midrange and control decks. To the sideboad 3 Reality Smashers, 2Thought-Knot Seers, 4 Chandra's Pyrohelix to prevent token decks from chumping us and to fight humans, and 2 Ruinous Gremlin s to be able to crew and to remove pesky threats.

9/27 After some online playtesting I found that I was consistantly getting stuck at 3 mana therefore removed 1 Collective Defiance for 1 Mountain to try and find the land count sweet spot.
