also this deck won pretty well against your deck while me and my buddy were testing them U/W/R lets go merica! is a boros focus of america style deck all about damage and life gain with the blue for draw, life, and field wipe the burning earth came out one time and hurt me a little but it was too late i gained more life then it took while just dealing massive damage and i like the mad cap idea in your deck but often if i go first it will only hit me maybe once if i did't draw a magma jet but the next turn it always died consistently i think this is one of the really only style that stop that deck

If i started, then its stil turn 1 crusader and turn 2 madcap, and attack for 5. Doomblade comes after that attack, since the opponent can only use it on turn 2.

This is true. You do have to be on the play, so 50% chance on game one. Then you need to have one akroan Crusader, one Madcap, Two land, Nx other shit worth keeping.
This isn't a heroic deck. Trying to make Heroic work in a deck like this is not the direction it should go. Rakdos-Cacklers and Firedrinker Satyrs are better

Comment section is BLOWING up haha! Thanks for playtesting my deck guys! I thought about making this deck R/W but given its current success I am reluctant to change haha.

aaronmaxey, I know I've commented on here twice already, but if you we're going R/W, then take a look at my R/W Deck: Storming Dragons of the Forge. There are comments from a guy who is about to go pro, and what is good to run in a R/(splash)W deck.

something you mentioned aaronmaxey in your description about Rakdos Cackler dodging a Doom Blade , I thought you would have needed to pay a black mana in order for it to count as a black creature. In a straight red deck, wouldn't you inevitably be using red for the creature? Maybe it was a typo or the magic rulings have changed or I have been playing wrong this whole time.

2 nykthos? you're very devotion heavy. also i feel like a curve topper like 1-2 Stormbreath Dragon is another good pickup. especially with your ability to power it out turn 4 on good draws. maybe drop a fanatic and a madcap for it?
also, thank you for realizing how strong Mindsparker its probably one of the most underplayed card in red based decks for the control matchup

Nightstlkr YES!! Mindsparker is amazing! Also those are all things I will probably do when I acquire Stormbreath Dragon and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx ; However I am more focused on making a new deck so when I get time to trade for those things I shall.

I just built this deck, and it is performing so much better than my last RDW. Congratulations on making RDW viable in standard once more! P.S. I think that we should rally up some people and start the "Mindsparker Guild"

maybe consider Armed
for turn 3 wins
Turn 1: Rakdos Cackler
unleashed,
Turn 2: Madcap Skills
swing for 5,
Turn 3: Armed
and Titan's Strength
swing for 18

A card that I think can be seen as underrated is Dragon Mantle . it is a great place to put mana, and one mana for a card is great. in late(ish) game with Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx you can pump 8 or 9 mana into it, giving that bit of damage you needed to win. just a thought, though I would need to decide exactly what would be the best thing to take out for it.

the only issue with Dragon Mantle is that creature will always be blocked late game. It is something to try tho! let me know how it works
April 8, 2014 7:28 p.m.
I'd rather use Thunderous Might over the Dragon Mantle .

well nice work on your deck i like it quite a lot seems a near only kill deck would stop this deck and it would have a hard time at that
