Red-Green Budget Energy Aggro

Standard RG (Gruul)

MarduMarauder

Sideboard

Maybeboard

This is reminiscent of a poplular budget deck from Kaladesh. First of all in order to really understand this deck list, I recommend you look at the original list by Mana Source, the one before AER came out.

After you've done that, let me show you some of the changes I made with the new set.

1x Harnessed Lightning out, 1x Greenbelt Rampager in. Lets face it, Greenbelt Rampager is just really strong as 3/4 for 1. Greenbelt Rampager doesn't replace it on the curve but that is okay. The biggest problem is it hurts the 'budgetness' of the deck but I think is completely worth it. If you really want super budget, cut some Game Trail s for some Evolving Wilds and the pair of Arlinn Kord  s in the sideboard.

2x Servant of the Conduit out, 2x Aethersphere Harvester in. We are taking out all the copies of Servant of the Conduit for multiple reasons. First of all, having less two drops is better for Greenbelt Rampager. Second of all, ramp and color fixing isn't very relevant in this deck which makes it a pretty useless bear that gives you energy. Also, Aethersphere Harvester is very relevant in this deck. First of all it gives protection from flyers (like Heart of Kiran) when this deck only has 3 removal spells which are often used as pump instead. Also, it gives energy. Next, it gives lifelink and 5 toughness to help you survive decks that are more aggressive than yourself. Finally, the flying provides you with an extra finisher that doesn't need trample to be a finisher. Clearly, this seems to do it all, but if your deck needs to be more budget, you can cut these.

2x Servant of the Conduit out, 2x Greenbelt Rampager in. I talked about how I wanted less two drops and this is also way stronger than Servant of the Conduit.

1x Bristling Hydra out, 1x Greenbelt Rampager in. Greenbelt Rampager is coming to help lower the curve and is way better statted for its mana cost anyway.

2x Larger Than Life out, 2x Highspire Infusion in. The only thing Larger Than Life has that Highspire doesn't is an extra +1/+1 and trample. However, in return we get instant speed and 2 energy (which is extra relevant at instant speed). The reason why I don't take out the playset of Larger Than Life is because it provides trample, something important for finishing, but less important with Aethersphere Harvester.

2x Uncaged Fury out, 2x Highspire Infusion in. One reason, once again, is instant speed energy. Also, Uncaged Fury gets worse when one of your potential finishers has double strike. And finally, it is very clunky considering that it is 3 mana.

If you prefer the old version you can find all the cards taken out in the maybeboard.

Also, here is juicy data on games with this deck against an empty board. The amount of turn 4 wins is astounding and the fact how you can still win so fast on mulligans. The average turn of win was 5 out of 50 games. You can also find other averages on the spread sheet. Hope this helps you decide if you want to bring this deck to something like an FNM!!!
