Sweet take on Zada! I constructed a Zada deck myself, but I have not been able to determine how good the new Mirrorwing Dragon is. You obviously included it, so is there something that I am missing about the card or is he just a backup plan for the times that Zada gets destroyed more than once?

TheDracogenius: Thanks for your compliments! I've drawn Mirrorwing Dragon a few times, and I've been disappointed. Still, it's usually better than Zada, since it has a semi-decent anti-removal clause stuck to it. I'm kind of on the fence. But this is also the deck I spend the least time on (I'm not extremely happy with how it's playing recently) so I haven't thought too hard about it TBH. How is your Zada deck treating you?

Often my Zada deck beats itself and blows up right in my face, but when it works.......wow! It is probably not possible to make it much more consistant though, the problem is just that you need too many pieces to align perfectly, which is nearly impossible if you play hundred card singelton. Very funny deck to play, but it will probably never be truly competitive.

So.... Pyromancer's Goggles? Might be over kill but hell why not. Love the deck I bought about 6 of Zada, Hedron Grinder and traded for 5 more. Love the card has so much potential in standard just too much removal going on. Came here to see this awesome card in commander to give him another shot.

Neorex72: The problem I've had with Pyromancer's Goggles is that the copy isn't cast so Zada doesn't affect it. This deck is super fun (especially since they keep printing more cantrips, though I've currently taken it apart until I can make it more consistent.

I'm glad you like the deck!

I think Built to Smash may be a good card from Kaladesh for this deck, even though you don't get the artifact bonus. That's all I could really see that looked interesting. There's also Fateful Showdown, which doubles as card draw and burn. Other than that, not too many cards that would seem to fare well in the deck. Hope the suggestions help! :)

Triton: My number 1 card from the set for this deck was Renegade Tactics, but Fateful Showdown is really, really interesting as well. I'd never considered it for this deck, but if I target Zada with the burn, I get to Winds of Change for each creature I control. And since I can cast instants between the resolutions of each copy...

Oh man, does this deck hit all the points or what. I'm surprised with the amount of well-applied ramp and draw you have going.

The only thing I can think of that would really tie it up is something like Insurrection or Mob Rule in the event that your opponent has a creature like Hundred-Handed One.

skyburial: Oh, I really SHOULD include Insurrection. It's the perfect late-game kill (and one of my favorite cards). But what to cut? :(

Halphinian: I don't have any way to prevent the damage to myself or my creatures so it might be a bit counterproductive. Regardless, thank you for the comment! :) Also, I don't think the website recorded your +1. Do you mind clicking it one more time? ;)

To me Insurrection isn't worth it. If I'm able to cast that I'm probably in position to win anyway. I prefer an instant buff like Sure Strike or Titan's Strength - these are also useful even when you are not in position to win this turn.Or, Outnumber is so cheap, and so... burny.

This finally got rebuilt and updated! Anyone got any thoughts on the new list?

Does Aetherflux Reservoir pay off much? It seems likely that by the time I cast enough spells to make it matter, I will have a winning situation anyway.

Daedalus19876 says... #14

BabyDoc: Oh, absolutely :) It's one of my primary win-cons and I wouldn't cut it under any circumstances. It frequently wins me the game without having to swing (for example, to deal with something like Ghostly Prison).

I murdered 4 players with it in my last game.

This is so neat! Maybe add in Rouse the Mob or other strive cards? Stay cool! +1

You do understand that the spells copied with zada do not trigger Aetherflux Reservoir right?

March 14, 2017 6:42 p.m.

Daedalus19876 says... #17

mentor6: Yes, I understand. However, the deck frequently casts 15+ spells on the turn it combos off (NOT counting Zada's copies, which are not cast and do not count for Storm) so Aetherflux Reservoir has proven itself to be an amazing card anyway :)

Mana Echoes would probably help A LOT for this deck

IrishMidgetMan: Thanks for the comment! To be honest, the only problem with that card is that this deck's mana requirements are pretty heavily red :( I really wish it produced red mana rather than colorless...

I love stack-shenanigans and many triggers going off. This is an awesome deck idea and would be fun to pilot, although I would definitely want to test it out before I took it to a Commander game at my LGS because I wouldn't want people to sit around waiting for me to do math.

Again, awesome deck idea..Well done.

I don't quite get the reason to use Indomitable Creativity. It's just because or has an specific function i'm just missing?

April 1, 2017 7:33 p.m.

Daedalus19876 says... #23

Pinkie_Satanas: If I cast it with X=1 targeting Zada, it copies to all of my tokens and spits out every creature and artifact from my deck (at the cost of losing Zada). Still, this tactic can allow some ridiculously explosive board states.

I have a similar Zada deck, also budget (mine's less than $40), and it combo'd off turn 5 and defeated all three opponents.

Zada should not be underestimated :)
