You could replace Wind-Scarred Crag with Karakas. It's just a Plains that can Unsummon legendary creatures, which can be useful if say an opponent tries to kill Kaalia of the Vast.

Nomad Outpost could be City of Brass

Orzhov Guildgate could be Gemstone Mine

Boros Guildgate could be Unknown Shores or Shimmering Grotto

Is their a cheaper version of Karakas, as that card is expensive as hell. This deck is already very pricey.

Karakas is super banned in EDH.

Later on tonight I will have a better idea of what to change in your deck

Hey thanks for complimenting my deck :)

I see a few things here: I'd add Fervor and Dragon Tempest because if Kaalia doesn't hit the ground running she'll get hated off the board.

If you can afford it I'd add Sneak Attack - it's an extra way to cheat creatures out and you can get a little reanimation sub theme going if you want.

I like your creature base - I personally run Mother of Runes for extra protection along with Swiftfoot Boots and Lightning Greaves.

I don't like how many artifacts you have, lots of the mana rocks are really slow and/or clunky. I'd try replacing them with some spot removal or maybe a few tutors.

Hope this gets you started!

my play group has alot of grave hate, so i dont think sneak attack would be too grand in this. although im trying to get a couple more haste enablers

I would cut all of your equipment except boots, greaves, and the sword. I would add Volrath's Stronghold and use it to replace a basic swamp. I would include Go for the Throat, Toxic Deluge, and Merciless Eviction This will allow you to put a nice fatty from your grave back into your hand technically so you can use your general to cheat it out again. I would also really recommend Sneak Attack its expensive (money wise) but it really is amazing for a backup plan. Also, and this is just my dumb pet card for red, Need for Speed is incredible for kaalia. Who cares if you just lost 1 land you just hit someone for 15 or some crap on turn 2-3. Rawr.

I feel your pain! Lands that enter tapped just hold you back when you want to be scaring their pants off with Kaalia asap. Personally, I can't afford the 3 Duals or the 9 Fetches for my decks so I go with other options.

My Kaalia: The Vast and the Furious runs the 3 Shocks (Blood Crypt, Sacred Foundry, Godless Shrine), the 3 Check-lands (Clifftop Retreat, Dragonskull Summit, Isolated Chapel) and some Filters (Graven Cairns, Rugged Prairie).

I stay away from the Guildgates and the "enters-tapped and gain a life" lands just to keep my land base faster. I also stopped using the "enters tapped unless you control 2 or fewer lands" because they'd typically enter tapped unless I had them in my opening hand.

I would avoid running all three Temples (Temple of Malice, Temple of Triumph, Temple of Silence) since that's another 3 lands entering tapped. I understand the power of scry, I just think 1-2 seems like a better number.

Definitely add Command Tower, Mana Confluence and Reflecting Pool. You could also consider a Vesuva if you need more color fixing, but that's another enters-tapped land.

You only asked for comments on land but I have one final suggestion: Break Through the Line to give Kaalia haste and unblockable.

It can also give Master of Cruelties haste and unblockable. You're welcome.

Try this to make her faster. Take out Mana Vault, Gilded Lotus, Darksteel Ingot and Chromatic Lantern for Chrome Mox, Lotus Petal, Mox Diamond and Coldsteel Heart. Also take out Vesuva for Fetid Heath and the three Temple lands for lands that don't come into play tapped. Other great haste cards are Generator Servant and Sootstoke Kindler. Make sure to check out my Kaalia, Winged Death deck, she is really fast and really competitive.

why take out mana vault? it enables a turn 3 win.

McKz might I know how one Mana Vault gives you a turn 3 win ?

August 11, 2016 3:40 a.m.

McKz says... #14

Shane.Allen, it just allows me to stack enough mana to have a kaalia out by t3 with haste thus allowing me to win on turn three of course this take a fair few cards and not just mana vault

Shane.Allen says... #15

It seems to me both of your combos are very susceptible to removal and even a turn 3 Kaalia with haste which my wife's deck can easily do does not guarantee a win. You'll have three other people trying to destroy your deck.

but most dont have a way to kill her with the protection, immediately and with that little mana, i only really say that since im the only person who really plays white with the 1 drop removal type stuff.

Shane.Allen says... #17

wow, flabbergasted, if you where in my meta you would have a lot harder time I think, Its a very removal heavy meta, lots of good board wipes and targeted removal, also a dose land destruction.

August 18, 2016 6:35 a.m.

McKz says... #18

my meta is ALL combos i think theirs two maybe three aggro deck oen good stuff deck and about 20+ combo decks

Shane.Allen says... #19

You get your general countered much? I always find the easiest way to control Kaalia is to keep her off the board, then they have to wait 5-6 turns to start casting creatures and by then other decks have established some board presence.

August 22, 2016 9:16 a.m.

McKz says... #20

their isnt to many counters in my play group, but theirs an ungodly amount of removal.

August 22, 2016 7:35 p.m.

Shane.Allen says... #21

That sounds like my playgroup too. Nothing lasts for too long, things don't get countered much unless I'm the one doing it and board states don't seem to last until someone goes off, and then it's panic mode or table flip.

Maelstrom Wanderer + Karn Liberated = Panic mode!

Maelstrom Wanderer + Jokulhaups = Table Flip!

my group prefers to let havoc rain.. untill it looks at them, so then it becomes who can screw the other person over the most. we mainly do 4 player games.

August 22, 2016 7:47 p.m.

Shane.Allen says... #23

yeah mine are usually four to five, and I think games in my group come down to everyone trying to kill me or waiting until someone has a board state and the destroying that player, its really funny.

August 22, 2016 8:35 p.m.

McKz says... #24

like their this one guy who is running a mono black deck with like 16/24 combos.. its not fair.. at all.

I used to play with a uber completive group, now its some younger players buy I'm helping them raise their game up to me and my wife's levels of play :)
