I am lowkey kinda obsessed with themed Rakdos decks and this one is no exception.

The goal is to get out aggressive, strong, early-game creatures while compensating for their discard-related downsides.

Madness fodder becomes the stuff you "reduce" the costs of when you throw them away.

Flashback, Escape, and Aftermath fodder become the stuff you "reuse" after you've thrown them away.

Our 2-drop outlets include Bloodrage Brawler , Rakdos Headliner , and Thrill of Possibility . The two creatures have above average stats for their mana cost and were actually the initial inspiration for the deck, as I had wanted to turn their downsides into upsides.

Thrill, on the other hand, is our card draw.

Rakdos Headliner's Echo cost is actually great for Madness in particular, as the mechanic usually struggles to go off on turn 2 when you're already tapped out of mana. Having a delayed timer on your discard lets you untap on turn 3 first before throwing away good Madness fodder.

Our 3-drop outlets include Rotting Regisaur , Glint-Horn Buccaneer , and Neheb, the Worthy .

Regisaur is an absolute unit for his CMC.

Neheb gives the other Minotaurs in the deck First Strike and a potential +2 buff in power depending on how many cards (or lack thereof) end up in your hand during the mid-to-late game.

Glint-Horn Buccaneer is a hasty Minotaur that pings the opponent every time you discard something. He can also loot while he attacks.

Our 4-drops are Neheb, Dreadhorde Champion and Liliana, Waker of the Dead .

This Neheb variant is a solid trampler that can potentially ramp out and draw more stuff in the mid-to-late game.

Liliana is an outlet, a removal spell, and a potential revival source if you can pull her ultimate off.

Blazing Rootwalla is just (chef's kiss) the créme de la créme of a madness card, being that he's 9 times out of 10 a free body. Discarding him makes you feel like you never actually discarded anything to begin with, and his limited fire breathing is the cherry on top.

Dread Wanderer is your recurring fodder for when you've run out of gas. Although, he's also a solid 2/1 1-drop since the deck also wants to be aggressive. I chose him over Gutterbones because I feel like you would more likely have an empty hand than you would a board state where you can damage your opponent, especially against the mid-range/control match-ups.

Phoenix of Ash is a hasty flier with the potential to revive himself if you discarded him.

Lingering Souls gives you 2 evasive bodies via Flashback, Cut / Ribbons can either take out creatures and/or finish off your opponent, and finally Fiery Temper is just your certified Madness-themed Bolt staple.

Updates Add

Aye, I think Liliana might be better suited for midrange or control decks as opposed to aggro decks.

With this in mind, Imma take her out as well as a Dread Wanderer and a Phoenix of Ash, placing 2 Kitchen Imps and a Grave Scrabbler in their midst.

I also swapped out 2 Call to the Netherworld for 2 more Grave Scrabblers in the sideboard, as his recovery effect can also bring back my red creatures as well as my black creatures.
