Tibalt is one of my favorite walkers. I'll see if I can think up any suggestions when I get home

BTW you should use the normal Tibalt art because I think it's way more badass ;O

Awesome deck. A few suggestions you may have already thought of: Bloodsoaked Champion is pretty strong as a card that works pretty as a few additional copies of Bloodghast. Additionally Dark Deal seems pretty strong as both a source of card cycling, and hurting your opponents strategy if you can use it when they want their hand. If you went a little farther mid-range, Falkenrath Aristocrat is a pretty strong sac outlet that could serve the same purpose as Viscera Seer, albeit at much higher mana cost, but it synergizes very well with recurring creatures.

@PrgGLaDOS I did think about Bloodsoaked Champion, but the only problem is that I have to attack in order for him to return. It just makes it too situational because this deck doesn't attack as much as other decks. Since only 1/4th of the deck consists of creatures, I just think it would be too slow.

Dark Deal might actually be nice in here. I'm just not sure about it because it allows the opponent to draw too. It can be bad because if I play against storm decks or Living End decks, it allows them to gain more advantage for graveyard shenanigans. I'll test it out and get back to you.

As for the Aristocrat, I really do like it because it can gain indestructibility. However, I don't think it would live up to it's fullest potential because I only have 1 human in the deck. On the other hand, I do have a token generator. I think I'll test it out as a 1 of and get back to you if it works out well.

The aristocrat turns on the Phoenix btw

True, I'm just not sure what to cut for it main deck. I play tested this deck and I love how it plays. What would you recommend taking out for an Aristocrat either Nef or PrgGLaDOS?

Why play fiery temper over lightning bolt? There doesn't seem to be a reason

DX5 says... #11

I would assume in case he accidentally discards it to Tibalt, the Fiend-Blooded he can cast it.

TheBurgerKing says... #12

@DX5 true, but I think in every other situation bolt is better. Maybe I'm wrong and it works better in practice.

August 10, 2015 8:21 p.m.

SirFowler says... #13

There are multiple reasons why I chose the Temper over the Bolt. I can piggyback off of Zombie Infestation/Faithless Looting, if I accidentally discard to Tibalt I can still use it, and I've been in situations where the opponents casts an Inquisition of Kozilek and the Temper was the only thing that they would be able to discard. That way they waste there discard spell while I still gain an advantage in damage. In any other deck, Lightning Bolt is better bar none. For this deck however, Fiery Temper is the superior choice.

I like the changes, looking good. One last thought - since you cut 1X Lili and 1X Infestation, you may want to throw in Rix Maadi, Dungeon Palace for extra discard triggers and hand attrition.

That's actually a pretty good idea. Thank you for the suggestion.

This deck is going into my favorites folders. It's just so freaking awesome beans.

@formayor What are your thoughts on Avaricious Dragon? I don't feel like Reckless Wurm has been pulling its weight in the deck. I mean it can be nice as a surprise creature when I discard to Zombie Infestation on their turn, but it hasn't really worked out as well as I hoped.

August 12, 2015 9:47 p.m.

Avaricious Dragon is an interesting idea and at least worth testing. I think I remember playtesting your deck a few times, and pretty consistently emptying my hand (or nearly doing so) by about turn 5. In that situation, especially if you have a permanent discard outlet (in case you can't cast something you draw with the Dragon or it's a madness card) - I feel like it's pretty advantageous as both a body and as card draw. So the timing of it is important, but if you find that it's consistently the right play on turn 4 or 5 when you find, it's probably better than the Wurm.

Fun looking deck. Given your sideboard plan I'm surprised you don't run Rakdos Charm mainboard. It wouldn't really be a bad card against tron and you couldn't possibly have that many burn matchups or I'd assume you'd be playing a different deck.

August 14, 2015 1:39 a.m.

SirFowler says... #21

I have it in sideboard because it just feels like a sideboard card to me. Sure it's good against a few decks, but useless against others. I'm not much of a modern player, but I never really seen anyone run it mainboard.

I love this deck as an idea. Thoughts on 2-3 Call to the Netherworld? Can EASILY transform the late game board state into 4 Demigod of Revenge.

SirFowler says... #23

@Mr.Mirage That is a possibility, but I'm not sure what I would take out.

This is pretty clever and awesome, +1

Can I ask why Lavaclaw Reaches? I'm not questioning the decision, I just don't understand the reason for it.
