Take out Spikeshot Elder and replace him with Stromkirk Noble , on a chance that you get all 3 in your opening hand, you can memnite plunge for all of them, and if you opponent doesnt scoop, it wont take long after.

I made a deck similar to this, New Kuldotha Red?.

In mine I point out a turn 1 for 10 damage :P

Cheap replacement for Mox Opal? Why, I believe the answer to that is Kite Shield or card:Accorder's Shield. Both work equally well, no metalcraft but you really dont need it for this deck IMO.

Yeah, I'd totally add another land to the deck. Rootbound Crags seem relevant here.

@Godzbreath why would you put Rootbound Crag in the deck? I've seen people do this in several other decks lately and I can't figure out the reason.

I really like it! But I'm not sure [[Mox Opal] fits in this deck. I'd replace it with two mountains or a couple of Volt Charge for some extra damage and to help Curse of Stalked Prey pumping up creatures.

@Trakanon, Rootbound Crag = effective Ancient Grudge for the sideboard.

I haven't read all the comments, so I don't know if this was suggested before, but Goblin Arsonist is great to Goblin Grenade for 6 (which destroys lots more biggies than 5)

@Trakanon, Rootbound Crag doesn't hurt your mainboard and opens up some green mana potential for stuff like Ancient Grudge flashbacks or (in some red deck wins variants) Kessig Wolf Run . It is super, super rare to run into Rootbounds coming into play tapped if you're only running 3 mainboard.

Guys, the Mox Opal s work just fine in here, they allow Kuldotha red its most explosive starts.

Hold on one second -- How do you plan to get a turn 1 chieftain if you have to pay R for the Plunge?

Not sure if this will help but I found in Reverberate To be most useful with Goblin Grenade . Especially with a Goblin Arsonist . It's 11 damage turn 3 if you haven't already beat your opponent to death.

I agree with you that turn two Curse of Stalked Prey is good, yet it almost always gets Mana Leak ed. Late game curse is not very useful. The most trouble you will have to deal with is Timely Reinforcements , for this one card undoes everything you are trying to do, and it now has flashback with Snapcaster Mage . I like the new direction with Infernal Plunge . Ratchet Bomb also wont be a fun card to face down considering it will rip your balls off on turn 2, and is in almost every control deck, and that is just 2 reasons why playing this deck will have you most likely top decking by turn 4-5, and that is if you have not already started top decking by turn 2. This deck build is too inconsistent, and I am sure you will realize this after enough play testing.

If you do end up putting in Koth of the Hammer I would suggest only putting in one it may screw up your early game draws. Panic Spellbomb would be good for late game Kuldotha Rebirth you wont lose as much card advantage. Arc Trail would be good for clearing the path.

I used to run Kuldotha Rebirth in my deck:curse-craft deck build and many other different builds as well; although it was to inconsistent. I am also thinking of dropping Curse of Stalked Prey , and replacing it with Tempered Steel it is much faster. I would also consider having 4 Mox Opal it may seem dumb, but you need the early game explosive turn advantage. It is just good to have, and even if you draw too many you can sack them to rebirth.

The biggest problem you will have is killing titans, Consecrated Sphinx , and Wurmcoil Engine considering you do not have much too exile them with, and you cant kill them before they get there triggered abilities off.

Good luck! Plus 1 for the effort!

I play tested this a few times and appreciate how quick the deck is, but I have to agree with Goldenrooster. I think you could use some removal and board clearing in case you can't win in the early game. Contested War Zone doesn't seem like it would hurt. Also I'd drop Chancellor of the Forge for Brimstone Volley I think it could only help your deck out. I have yet to actually cast a Chancellor while playtesting. +1 for speed

Really, I castes it numerous times while testing. I was always getting mana screwed, had a decent field, then used Infernal Plunge to cast it and get more tokens.

Take a look at my Mono-Red: Kuldotha Still Burns, I'm considering to drop out something for Curse of Stalked Prey .

the Goblin Grenade gets a little watered down with all the artifacts/ artifact creatures. If you stick with the artifacts I would suggest either Galvanic Blast , or Volt Charge (which works really well with the shrine's (bumping them up +2 while dealing 3 damage.

Have you run into the Turn 2 win yet? You seem to have all the cards, but I'd run more Mox Opal s

Turn 1:

Turn 2:

  • Swing 9.

  • Goblin Grenade for 5 to bring the total to 22 damage. (Just in case one of the gobos was blocked)

That's 8 cards. 7 in starting hand, drawing into Grenade. Sure, you'll rarely get all 8 cards (I've only pulled it off twice) but I mean, come on, Turn 2 win in STANDARD? How fun is that?

Ello,

/ LARF... :D

OmegaSerris- how about a Signal Pest instead of one Memnite

Turn 1 - Almost the same, swing for eight

Turn 2 - Swing for twelve, (win, or top deck) :)

And I've been toying with the thought of a red/white token deck with Kuldotha Rebirth and Intangible Virtue instead of the curse. Any thoughts please help

OmegaSerris says... #22

Where does the one mana for Signal Pest come from? Between the mountain and mox, you have two. One for Rebirth, one for Plunge (into Chieftain, so the other gobos have haste). Only reason Memnites work is that beautiful zero next to it's name.

No problem. Trust me, I've spent more time thinking of how to break that Turn 2 barrier than I'd like to admit. I know how easy it is to overlook one little thing and think you cracked it.

agreed.... Chit happens, i just just the deck was more reliable. B/c its either a Royal Flush or a Royal Phuck. If you don't start strong you'll fiz and if you do let them get to big you get smacked. #sadtruth Love red

& I'm not the biggest fan of the Curse BTW. If i didn't state that already. This deck lacks burn "instant" burn that is.
