Wow tried some sample hands and it seemed really nice, inexpensive too. Only relatively expensive cards are the Mox Opal 's, which I already have a playset of. I have the rest of the cards except 2xGoblin Chieftain 's and 1xCurse of Stalked Prey . I'll probably test it next time I go to fnm.

so if you wanted to go budget you could replace the opals with the Ichor Wellspring or what about the Darksteel Relic thats another free artifact and for sideboad what would you want for this deck i feel that Combust would be good against human decks

I'm trying to build this with the cards I have. I do not own any opals, chancellors, shrines, or curses. I was thinking Ichor Wellspring for the opals. Any thoughts on replacements for the others? Possibly something green or black?

Maybe someone else already mentioned this, but what about the two wellsprings (Mycosynth Wellspring & Ichor Wellspring ) or Solemn Simulacrum ?

January 3, 2012 2:17 p.m.

OmegaSerris says... #5

Solemn is far too slow for this deck. Paying 4 mana in this deck is like paying 6/7 in a normal deck, if it doesn't change or end the game, it's not worth the deck slot.

The wellsprings are nice, my first Kuldotha deck used them. But as I trimmed and sped it up more and more, they were the ultimately cut. I'm sure metalmagic felts the same way. Ichor Wellspring is a nice alternative to Mox Opal if you are going for a budget version.

Mycosynth Wellspring is, in my opinion, worse than the Ichor in this case. Mono Red needs fuel (spells) not land. If you are going 2/3 color artifact-control (Tezzeret Decks), I'd say the opposite. Blue can do much better draw then Ichor, but a colorless Rampant Growth for mana fixing that can turn into a 5/5 is sweet.

I would stick in 2,3 Strom kirk Nobles in, and run 2,3 Goblin Chieftains, and 2 Adaptive Automaton's(which is almost a exact artifact copy of Gob Chieftain, except for no haste), and 2,3 Galvanic Blast, 2,3 Gob Grenades, 2,3 Immolating Soul Eater's, 2 Assault strobes, 2 Flings, 2,3 Red Sun's, 2 Phyrexian Metamorphs, 3 rootbound crag's, 2 Kessig Wolf Run's, 2 Ghost Quarters

I would take out the 4 chancelor's, and the 4 Shrine's, and even go with 60,61,62,63,64,65 card Deck, 21 to 23 lands, to be able to add those cards.

For Reference, Please Check out my Kuldotha Burn Gob Mox Koth Chandra Noble Souleat Deck,by mikedh1, on the same deck hubs that this deck is on.

Big +1 to deck for Speed, concept, theme, effort, effectiveness, despite the deck's inconsistency

I know you get lots of comments, and +1's, and seen deck play FAST, bit it can be even better, so please read the following changes, and reason, explanation for making changes.

Turn the 3 chancelors into 2 Phyrexian Metamorph's. Altho the chancelors give you the 2 goblin tokens, and is amazing with the right draw, the problem is you have to have 1 in opening hand. And your screwed if have 2,3 of them in opening hand,or draw them early, altho mulliganning can help with that. The other problem is that wont be able to cast it until turn 5,6.

Phyrexian metamorph is better because it will copy almost everything in your deck, effectively give you 6 chieftains, an 9 Battlecryers, and can copy foe's Big fatty's on turns 3,4 for 3 mana.

Altho shrine of the burning rage is good, it's not with 4 of them. Instead turn 2 Shrine's and 2 Grenades, to 2 Galvanic blast, 2 Grenades, 2 shrines. Blast does 4 damage for 1 mana without having to sac a creature.

Turn 1 of the chancelor's, into 3 Mox Opal's, instead of 2. Doing so will make it so that you can do more of the FAST early turn stuff, without having chancelor.

Add 2 Planewalkers, in either 1 Chandra, 1 Koth, or 2 Chandra, or 2 Koth's. These 2 Planewalkers do burn. Chandra reverberate Rebirth, and Burn cards, Koth puts out a 4/4, a Burn emblem.

Add 1 more land, and go with 61 cards, 21 lands, this will give you a .344% land mana ratio, instead of the .333% land mana ratio you have with 60 cards, 20 lands, that will cause you to get mana screwed, an to mulligan more often.

Altho I know these changes would make your deck almost the same as my deck, I am not saying to to make your deck exactly like mine. Becuase if you went with 2 chandra's, or 2 Koth's, it would be different, because I run 1 chandra, and 1 Koth.

But these changes will truly make your deck better.Altho I have had my Kuldotha Rebirth deck, since it cycled out of standard back in zendikar block, and made it standard legal again, about 35 days ago, and didnt copy your deck, I did do a similar derivative of your deck, and improved it, and made it better.

I can be like a BASF man, like the BASF commercial slogan that says "we don't make things, we make them better"

Your deck's build was the best Kuldotha Rebirth Goblin deck, I have ever seen, and thats why I +1'ed your deck. That's why I did a better derivative of your deck.

And for reference, Here is my KULDOTHA GOBLIN BATTLECRY MOX KOTH CHANDRA MORPH BURN by mikedh1 deck on the same hubs this deck is on.

Please read, view this comment, and my deck for reference, and seriously consider making all to most of these changes, or similar changes, as doing so will make your deck better

thanks

Mike

Oh my gosh, I didn't know people still commented on this deck, haha. Should I actually take some time to update this to the current standard environment?

haha, you totally should!

Thanks man! I just gotta figure out what I want the deck to do when I update it. Keep it generally the same with some small changes, or make some theme changes (keeping the kuldotha theme though) and add bigger dudes?

Haha, good luck to you! There are probably plenty of new tools you can use in here, but it is fun as is :D and thanks!

Imagine drawing 2 Mox OpalMTG Card: Mox Opals, 2 MemniteMTG Card: Memnite, 2 Infernal PlungeMTG Card: Infernal Plunge, and 1 Goblin ChieftainMTG Card: Goblin Chieftain for an opening hand :3

Anyway, I think adding a third Mox OpalMTG Card: Mox Opal would be great. Not to mention the Ichor WellspringMTG Card: Ichor Wellsprings. Probably drop the shrines, cause they honestly to me, never seemed good.

-4 Shrine of Burning RageMTG Card: Shrine of Burning Rage

for

+1 Mox OpalMTG Card: Mox Opal

+1 Signal PestMTG Card: Signal Pest

+2 Ichor WellspringMTG Card: Ichor Wellspring

Other than that I think the deck is amazing. +1

I went a round of three with my deck:elf-powers-go deck and yeah, shrines were not helpful. That Curse of Stalked PreyMTG Card: Curse of Stalked Prey + Spikeshot ElderMTG Card: Spikeshot Elder combo is great though :3

I'm actually probably going to mull over all the new stuff we got from AVR and try to fit some of that in. Ichor WellspringMTG Card: Ichor Wellspring does seem like a good way to refresh my hand, but I am considering Reforge the SoulMTG Card: Reforge the Soul and/or that other red card for 1R where you discard your hand and draw two cards, along with Thunderous WrathMTG Card: Thunderous Wrath as 1- or 2-ofs each. I do think the wellspring will make in appearance as at least a 1-of, probably a 2-of very soon. I'll try to update this deck tonight! Thanks for the ideas!

Alright. Good luck with the work over :3

Did some quick play testing this weekend after picking up this deck for $30 minus the opals since I wanted to get back into the game. Played against a pre AVR Bant Humans and a U/W Delver Variant

2-1 vs Bant Humans (7-2) - the problem card to deal with here is O-ring on a chief and Hero Of Bladehold.

2-1 vs Devler Variant (5-4) - Geist of St Taft is the real issue here, especially equipped.

The deck really begs for a way to refuel (Miracle draw?) and wants some form of burn to pull 3/4 drops out of the way because bursting a Shrine to do it almost feels like a waste if they follow up with a second copy.

Another problem is hitting topdeck mode with only 1 creature on board. The deck needs some gas so you don't end up dying with curse plunge and grenade in hand but nothing to do with em.

3 pest on board with a Stalked is no joke. T0 Chancellor gob T1 Mountain, PLunge, Pest, Pest, Pest T2 Stalked Prey.

It brings some pain.

Sideboard? Discussed yet? Transformative?

April 30, 2012 12:10 p.m.

metalmagic says... #25

So with your playtesting you came out in the positive on games results, correect? It looks like the Delver match is more of a coin flip, but 9 games hardly constitutes concrete info. It does show a coinflip is probably the worst it will do, however.

As for the refueling problem, I am planning on adding in Dangerous WagerMTG Card: Dangerous Wager. It will really allow you to go all in, dump your hand, and refuel easily. Maybe 1 Reforge the SoulMTG Card: Reforge the Soul. I am still planning on working on this deck, probably tonight, to see what can be done with it. All the red draw we have now should help quite a bit. I don't think the sideboard has been discussed yet. I'm not going through 100 comments to find out, haha. I'm not sure if it should be transformative or not. Those are always fun and unexpected, but I think a more traditional approach may be better. What are your thoughts on it?
